In my on-screen TV listings the episodes featuring the next door neighbors The Bowmans always describe them as "The Rubbles".
For instance, today's episode reads:
"The Conners unwittingly watch while their neighbors, The Rubbles, are robbed while on vacation."

That's funny. I wonder if it has something to do with the first episode where the Bowmans appear - which was titled Troubles with the Rubbles.

Cathy Bowman was the name of my Late girlfriend. I met her 4 years after that episode aired. What a crazy coinkadink!
She passed away 3 years ago. It's a good episode, but awkward to watch in that context. :(

I have always wondered why they called them the Rubbles on the DVD but on the show, they were the Bowman's. Weird.

Like I said in an earlier reply, it might just be a flub associated with the episode name where the Bowmans are introduced - which was titled "Troubles with the Rubbles". It probably all ties back to that episode. Who knows, maybe they were originally going to call 'em the Rubbles (you know, Kathy Rubble) but felt it was too on the nose.

I was thinking that it might have been a wink to the fact that John Goodman had done the Flinstones Movie, but the episode aired in 1991 and the Flinstones Movie was in 1994 so there is no way that the two would be connected.

They had trouble with the next neighbours as well, or at least Darlene did. Ok I know that Molly was a bit on the skanky side but Darlene treated her like dirt right from the get go.

Completely agree with this. I always felt that the reason behind why Darlene treated Molly the way she did was because she felt threatened by her, which I know is an obvious reason but Darlene knew that Molly's good looks would definitely grab David's attention so she tried to get rid of her as quickly as possible.
