I'd like to request a forum in 1950's sitcoms for the JACK BENNY PROGRAM.

260 episodes from 1950 to 1965.

And it's still on 12 times a week.

The only one who could be unimpressed by a show from 1950 still on 12 times a week is Lucy.

At least have a sub forum in 50's sitcoms for Other.

Fantastic comedy(particulalry the Mel Blanc bits),outstanding guest appearances(including,of all people,the Beach Boys)and so many other attributes necessary to achieve classic status.This topic heading could inspire much worthwhile discussion.

It would be great to have a forum for the Jack Benny Program. The problem is it doesn't really fit any category. While it has some sitcom elements to it it's not truly a sitcom. It has some variety show elements to it but it's not exactly that either. It's kind of a category all of it's own. But It would be nice to find a place for it somewhere on S.O.! Perhaps there could be a section for shows that started on Radio and made the transition to television!

His job was entertainer. It was part of the situation for the comedy.

I would agree that The Jack Benny Program deserves to have its own board. While it has variety show elements, Jack Benny is no less of a sitcom than hourlongs like Eight is Enough and The Love Boat that are included in the sitcom section.

I havent seen an episode of that in many years!!
