Well, if you're talking about the actual actresses, Bea Arthur, Betty White, Estelle Getty, and Rue McClanahan, I think it's Betty White, she's TOTALLY the opposite of Rose. However if you're talking characters, I think Dorothy, and since you put the CHARACTER'S names, I voted for Dorothy.

hmmmmmmmmmmm i would also have to agree that it has to be betty white/aka/rose,she is an excellent actress since i have seen her in alot of her other work and i also think that estelle getty who plays sophia is also a great actress as well, but i think that the worst would beue arther for actresses but she is still good though,i prefer her in maude though, but i would have to say betty white wins hands down

I didn't know Betty had her own show,,,as Maude would say,,God'll get me for putting my foot in my mouth again.

I really loved all 4 of the Golden Girls,,,I just think Bea had the best comedic timing.

Yeah, I don't know too much about it, but there have been a few different "The Betty White Show(s)" since the 1950s through the 1970s. In the 1970s (Before MTM), Betty also hosted a show about animals and celebrities with their pets called "The Pet Set" which didn't last long. Rue *sort of* had her own show. After Maude was cancelled, producer Norman Lear created a sitcom for her to star in called "Apple Pie" but it only lasted 2 episodes. It premiered with 2 back-to-back episodes and then just sort of vanished. I don't know why it was cancelled immediately like that. I have some publicity photos from Apple Pie and Rue looks so different. It was supposed to take place in the '30s and Rue has a short, dark wig and looks so young.

Yeah, Betty had her own show for a year. It was after MTM ended. The theme song is on this website.
