View Full Version : Lisa Whelchel and Mindy Cohn - People magazine - May 2013
jayman75 05-24-2013, 11:03 AM Lisa and Mindy are featured in People magazine this week... although it appears neither is happy about the coverage the article provided.
@MindyCohn (https://twitter.com/MindyCohn) tweeted on May 23:
love how @peoplemag lied 2 @LisaWhelchel & I that article going to be about what's actually interesting... like acting career, philanthropy
@LisaWhelchel (https://twitter.com/LisaWhelchel) tweeted on May 22:
Bummed the @peoplemag article appears to be all about the weight thing again...old news. Oh well, loved being w/ @stevehelling & @MindyCohn.
I can't find the article on the People website yet, but there is info here (http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/tv/starr_report_bOHLwH4HyY19XoXQACgT9N?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=TV).
Very nice to see the two ladies together...
ABlairican Pie 05-29-2013, 05:28 PM That photo of Lisa is definitely hot. :grineyes: And Mindy sure looks trim. But it does get annoying about the weight issue. ohno:
ABlairican Pie 05-29-2013, 05:29 PM And oh yeah, a big happy Five-Oh birthday to Lisa!!! By the looks of her picture, you wouldn't have guessed!!! :rock: :rock:
frodnew6 05-30-2013, 03:25 AM Lisa has a new interview at Biography.com.
JoPol_wannabe 06-05-2013, 11:49 PM I love that Lisa said that she isn't going to starve herself just for a role. And if she is playing a character who is in there 40's or 50's they would have some curves.

Very true. It's not a good idea to starve oneself. The body enters into catabolic state where it starts attacking and consuming itself in order to sustain itself, and it attacks muscle, which includes the heart. If she has a little padding, it's probably healthier than people who have zero fat at all. A little fat is a necessary thing rather than too much or none at all. Morbid obesity is bad, but so is anorexia.
I've always actually liked that Lisa had a little padding, and never really thought of her as "fat" or overweight. :grineyes:
frodnew6 06-07-2013, 02:08 AM Same here. I never thought of any of them were fat, honestly. I always find it crazy that they were called "The Fats of Life." I mean, really?

Mr. Television 06-10-2013, 10:49 PM They looked like normal kids. That's why the show was so popular back in the day. They didn't look like Hollywood starlets. They weren't fat.
DJM77 06-11-2013, 06:30 AM I'm sorry, but Natalie, not fat? :confused:
frodnew6 06-11-2013, 07:58 AM I never thought Natalie was fat. She was a little chubbier than the other girls, but part of that was that she had big boobs lol Kim Fields had that issue, too.
ThomasE 10-28-2013, 09:18 AM I'm sorry, but Natalie, not fat? :confused:
:lol: :lol: :happyface True. I agree with you. She was fat and I don't mean that in the negative. It just is what it is and that is what she was. In later years, she was looking really cute. She showed that big girls could make plus size attractive. I am not mad at her at all.
Gemini_89 02-22-2016, 11:32 PM I liked how Mindy's mom stood up for her daughter.
'80sSitcoms 02-23-2016, 09:36 AM Yes, Natalie was fat. Like other observers here, how could you not think she was fat? Fine, you can say "chubby" if you want to feel nicer about it, but she was definitely overweight. And like other observers here I'm not trying to be mean, just stating an observing fact.
What I don't believe though is when Mindy says there was one point where she was the thinnest of the cast---?? I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that she was ever thinner than Lisa or Nancy.
