I love 30 Rock, but I'm surprised to see it on this list. Never felt its pilot was anything all that special, although it did show promise.

Community's pilot is underrated. Not nearly the show's best episode, but in terms of providing a foundation for a show to build off of, it's one of the best. Arrested Development and Modern Family are easily the two best sitcom pilots of recent years, though.

I just watched the "Cheers" pilot the other night for the first time and I loved it. I love the way they introduced the characters without formally introducing them!

Mad Men had an awesome pilot as well! I can see why it's lasted as long as it has!

I am appalled that Frasier isn't on this list b/c IMO, it's the best pilot I've ever seen! It did an amazing job of introducing the characters and it's hilarious! I've said this I don't know how many times but I LOVE the fact that DHP got applause for one of his lines and was the only person to do so in that ep, as far as I can remember.

The pilot for Pushing Daisies was truly amazing.
