Studios hoped this one would earn more money than it did.

Conservatives believe the main reason was because they were turned off by an actor calling a character in the film a "Freedom Fighter".

They also despise Roddenberry, because he was a far-left Libertarian.

Everything doesn't always have to be political related.

Sorry, James. I was just giving my thoughts as to why I believe this film didn't make more money than studios anticipated it would.
