View Full Version : Might as well face it, I'm addicted to true crime shows
wiseguy182 05-19-2013, 04:07 AM Does anyone else feel addicted to true crime shows and what not? It's basically a part of my daily routine. I feel like I suffer from withdrawal symptoms on days I don't get to watch any. Just the combination of intriguing stories and great narration.
Killarney Rose 05-19-2013, 05:39 PM I wouldnt call it an addiction, but by far its my favorite genre, and my DD is following in my footsteps too.
I began by reading my aunt and uncles detective magazines as a little girl. Found true crime books as an adult, court tv, unsolved mysteries, ID, and web sleuths. I spend more time with the dead and missing than with live people  ....adicted? Nah, not me, i can stop any time i want!:D
MegtheEgg86 05-20-2013, 03:13 AM Yes. I fully understand what you mean. Hardly one day passes by that I don't read or watch something related to true crime. I never, ever tire of it.
Orange_Sody_84 06-07-2013, 11:11 AM much of my DVR space is filled with the true crime shows from the I.D. channel. :-) I enjoy the dramatic re-enactments and learning about a new case. Can't forget my fix of "48 Hours Mysteries" or the occasional "Dateline" too!!
SheRaaa 06-08-2013, 06:23 PM Count me in as a full-blown addict. My DVR is constantly revved-up with the following:
-City Confidential
-Disappeared
-Cold Case Files
-Notorious
-Deadly Women (with its hilariously obvious narrations)
I love true crime!

Perhaps you are my twin, and we were separated at birth. All those are favorites of mine - not too familiar with Deadly Women though.
catlover79 06-09-2013, 01:54 PM I don't have cable but I DO watch 48 Hours every week - those types of shows really can suck one in!!

Count me in as a triplet! :) Almost all of those are my favorites, although Snapped would be where Deadly Women (which IS hilariously named) sits.

You must watch Investigation Discovery right? That is true crime 24 hours a day!

:)
I occasionally record Dateline and 48 hours, but haven't had a chance to get into those full time yet. The Barefoot Bandit one was the most fascinating case I've ever seen.

wiseguy182 06-12-2013, 02:44 AM Well I just noticed SO has a triplets icon. Neat.
:triplets
UMfan77 08-09-2013, 08:27 AM Me too!! I'm constantly finding myself switching to the ID channel. This channel is soooooooooooooo addicting! The OWN channel also has marathons of Dateline Mysteries and Main Street Mysteries which is awesome too.
MissFit29 01-25-2014, 09:37 PM I am hooked on Snapped - I love to camp on the couch on Sundays and watch the marathon. Kind of makes the hubby nervous - he thinks I'm going off in the deep end some day.
I also watch shows on HLN, but I can't remember the name... Mystery Detectives?
American Greed is good too.
