I dropped Go On after 5 episodes and Bates Motel after 3 episodes. I tried and did not like: Beauty and the Beast, Ben and Kate, Duck Dynasty, Elementary, Family Tools, Guys with Kids, The Mindy Project, Mockingbird Lane, Nashville, The Neighbors, Revolution, See Dad Run, 1600 Penn, and Zero Hour. I also saw the pilot for The Following, thought it had potential but was too intense to make a regular.

These shows mostly had good episodes. This season also had a fair share of crap, I tried at least one episode of each: Go On, Do No Harm, Family Tools, Deception, Revolution, Chicago Fire, Partners, Vegas, The Following...

1. 30 Rock - The perfect way to go out, and the best final sitcom season in a long time. The way it built to an ending that was both highly satisfying and completely hilarious was something you rarely ever see in a sitcom. It was so great as a longtime fan of this show to see it end on the best note it possibly could.

2. Bob's Burgers - Consistently the best and most unique comedy on TV. Week after week, this show was churning out great episodes thanks to its distinct, fresh characters. Such a great season that saw the show go from underdog to serious hitter.

3. New Girl - Not quite as consistent as Bob's Burgers, but it had just as great of a season because its heights were higher. So much absolutely great TV from this show in Season 2, and it was easily the best live-action sitcom on this year after 30 Rock ended. The way it kept pushing its characters to new heights is something every TV comedy should aim to achieve.

4. Happy Endings - It's too bad that this show ended the way it did (assuming it doesn't get a cable-pick-up). In terms of pure laughs, this was the best show on TV this year.

5. Archer - After two perfect seasons, this season was a slight step down, but only a slight one. It's still one of the most innovative and best-written comedies on TV.

6. The Middle - The way this show has slowly grown into something special has been really cool to watch. This was its best season yet, which is a remarkable feat for a sitcom at this point in its run.

7. Veep - Still ongoing, so this could change. This is also one of the funniest shows on TV with a killer cast and the most beautiful, profane one-liners the human mind can write. Not much in the way of characterization though, which holds it back from being one of my top favorites.

8. Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 - One of the most disappointing cancellations of recent years, because it was axed just as it was starting to get really great. This was a hilarious show with a really unique sense of humor and I'm sad it was taken from us so soon.

9. American Dad - The red-headed stepchild of the MacFarlane family. Unlike its counterpoints, this is a really smart, genuinely strange show that always gets a lot of laughs out of me just because of how weird it gets. Hardly ever my favorite show of the week, but always one of the most entertaining.

10. Ben & Kate - Another show taken way too soon. A light-hearted, sweet sitcom with an immensly likable cast.

11. Community - Listen, I love this show. It's one of my favorites ever, and nothing will ever change how special those first 3 seasons are to me. But this was a rocky, rocky season, although it had some definite highlights and wasn't as much of a disaster as some make it out to be. But there was definitely something missing, and I hope they can figure out what worked and didn't work this year and turn out a better Season 5. They're definitely capable of it.

12. Suburgatory - Frustratingly inconsistent, with many downright awful episodes. But when it's on, it's among the best on TV.

13. Parks and Recreation - Another show that I love but found disappointing this season. They're stuck in a rut, repeating the same plots and character beats over and over. But like Community, there's still enough quality left in the show that I think it can bounce back.

There is a fairly large gap before the next show:

14. The Mindy Project - I tried to like this. I really did. I love so much of the writing staff and I like Mindy Kaling quite a bit. But it just never did anything for me. The characters are paper-thin, the plots are all cliched, the premise is tired...there's potential here, but I'm starting to doubt it's going to be put to good use. Which is a shame, given the talent on this show.

I didn't include stuff like SNL, The Daily Show, The Soup, ect. I also watch and really like Mad Men but since it's the only drama I consistently keep up with it seems weird to rank it against all of these comedies.

I also like The Office and Parks and Recreation but haven't watched this seasons episodes yet.
