....if you can't pay your bill, do they really make you go in the back and wash the dishes?

I usually go to the restroom then crawl out the window.

That's a good question! I'm curious as to the answer to this myself.

I doubt it anymore because people are so sue happy these days. They wouldn't want to take a chance on anybody getting hurt who doesn't officially work there, thus they getting sued.

I've asked this same question, I've heard they would likely call the police since eating without paying would technically be theft.

But this HAS happened to me once, I left my money at home and thankfully nothing happened and I promised the owner I would bring the money the next day and he was nice enough to let me, I ate there a lot so he knew me.

I always wonder in the I LOVE LUCY Equal Rights episode, that Lucy and Ethel washed a lot of dishes. They were there all night. The meal for the 2 of them, Ricky and Fred paid for own meals, was ?? $5.00 in those days. I think they washed $200.00 worth of dirty dishes of food. They should have been finished hours ago for they should only had to wash a few dishes to pay the bill.

I actually would find it a bit fun to see a restaurant kitchen. One way to see what goes on. On the other hand I could no way stiff the restaurant. I have never not had money to pay for a meal.

I would think if it was a legit mistake and they had no money, other arrangements could be made........ But if they try to slip out w/o paying, thats another story!!

That's one of the reasons I'm old fashioned and still like to pay with cash ! Even though I know I have enough funds on my credit card, a glitch in the system could reject my card !

That actually happened to me at Target not that long ago, my card was being rejected for I don't know what reason , :confused:luckily I had another card with me cause I didn't have enough cash with me that day to foot the bill!

Just to be sure , I made a pretty big purchase on the card that was rejected at Target at another business ( had my other card on hand just in case) :D and it went through , thank God ! So I have no idea what was going on that day at Target??
