Hollywood has found safety these days with brand recognition.
It seems that there’s no point in taking a chance on something new or risky, when you can just slap a pre-existing brand name onto a diluted franchise and watch as people turn out in their droves.
As soon as they have a surprise hit at the box office, they repackage it and milk it for all it’s worth. Think the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise or SAW. If the numbers are to be believed then it’s a trend that doesn’t look like it’ll go away.
So I say it’s time to have a look at franchises that are continually pumping out mindless dreck that we are happy to pay for over and over again, except each time with a different coat of paint.

Why do they need to be stopped? Don't want to see them, don't watch them. Simple.

so their list is:
10 Scary Movie
9 Paranormal Activity
8 Alien/Prometheus
7 The “Movie” Movies (Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet The Spartans, Disaster Movie and Vampires Suck)
6 Underworld (sorry, but if Kate Beckinsale is in it, ima watch)
5 Resident Evil
4 Ice Age
3 Transformers
2 Pirates of the Caribbean
1 Die Hard
i think the "Final Destination" series shoulda been at the top of that list - I mean the FIRST one even has "FINAL" in the title !

I'm tired of sites that have countdowns where you have to keep clicking a link to go to the next item on the list, just so they can claim more "hits" to their site. They should just post the list. I'm making a stand right here and now!
But...re: #10... Scary Movie... I don't think I've ever sat through an entire Scary Movie, but I gotta say, every time I come across one while channel surfing, I laugh... the movies seem to have a lot of funny scenes.
That’ll Do: Movie Franchises We’ve Definitely Had Enough Of (http://madamenoire.com/276858/thatll-do-movie-franchises-weve-definitely-had-enough-of/)
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it may be a mantra that makes perfect sense with plenty of things. But when it comes to movie franchises, don’t be so sure that’s the way to go. As summer movie season looms and we ready for months of fun at the theater, we’re also bracing ourselves for some truly horrible movie franchises rearing their ugly head.

Fast and The Furious(i'm gonna see part 6 tomorrow LOL).
The Expendables
Die Hard
I love action movies but some of these sequels to action movies need to stop being made. 6 Fast and The Furious are enough. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker need to do other action movies and for whatever reason, they don't seem like they wanna do other action movies LOL. I'm sure they've been getting scripts for action movies and they probably pass on them. I was at the video store last week and i saw that Paul Walker has a new straight to video movie coming and it looks like a action movie. Sylvester Stallone said he wants to do another Expendables because he said he wants Wesley Snipes in the next one and he wants Mel Gibson to direct. I thought it was nice at first to see a bunch of action stars together for the first Expendables and i thought it was even better when Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis had bigger parts in the 2nd one and it was good seeing Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme in the 2nd one but i think 2 are enough. If there is a 3rd one, that should be the last one.
