(The Indiana Pacers beat the NY Knicks 105-98.)

(Ralph is pacing back and forth.)

Alice: "Ralph, why don't you relax? It was only the first game."

Ralph: "ONLY the first game Alice? This could be the beginning of a skid. I don't want the Pacers to go to the next round. Those Pacers are tough but not as good as the Knicks. First, the Nets get eliminated. Now, the Knicks suffer a loss."

(Ed comes down.)

Ed: "Hi Ralph! Hello Alice! What a sad game. First, it was the Nets getting done and now the Knicks have lost a game. This will be a dark, dark spring."

Ralph: "You can say that again Norton. I don't want those lowely Pacers beating us. The Pacers are tough bt not good enough. The Pacers have a history of not being good."

Ed: "Yeah, who can forget the time that they lost in the NBA finals in 2000. They got there by beating the Knicks in six games. The same game 6 which was Pat Ewing's last as a Knick."

Ralph: "Don't remind me Norton. I don't want to remember that."

Alice: "It's hard for you because an elephant never forgets."

Ralph (yells): "YOU WANT TO TAKE THAT TRIP TO THE MOON ALICE?"

Ed: "At least, if the Pacers win, it would be sadly fitting."

Ralph: "Why?"

Ed: "Because the Knicks are in the middle of a 40-plus year long drought. The last 10 years have been a black hole for them. They were the laughingstock of the NBA and..."

Ralph (yells): "GET OUT! GEEEEEEEEEET OUT!"

(Jackie Gleason walks on stage. Audience applauds.)

Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"
