There's a song out there on country radio by Brooks & Dunn. I'm going to post the lyrics. Tell me what does this song remind you of?

The Long Goodbye

I know they say if you love somebody
You should set them free
But it sure is hard to do
It sure is hard to do
I know they say if you don’t come back again
Then it’s meant to be (so they say)
Those words don’t pull me through
Cause I’m still in love with you
I spend each day here waiting for a miracle
But it’s just you and me goin’ through the mill
climbin’ up a hill
CHORUS
This is the long goodbye
Somebody tell me why
Two lovers in love can’t make it
Just what kind of love keeps breaking a heart
No matter how hard I try
I always make you cry
Come on, baby, it’s over…let’s face it
All that’s happening here is a long goodbye
Sometimes I ask my heart did we really
Give our love a chance (just one more chance)
But I know without a doubt
We turned it inside out
And if we walked away
It would make more sense
But it tears me up inside
Just to think we could still try
How long must we keep running on a carousel
Goin’ round and round and never getting anywhere
On a wing and prayer
CHORUS
Long goodbye
Long goodbye

I'll tell you what it makes me think of when you post your thoughts.

:) I don't want to take the focus off of the song that SamandDiane4eva posted, but if anyone here has ever heard Billy Joel's "Piano Man" can you tell me that it doesn't remind you of Cheers? I love that song, and every time I hear it I think of Cheers. If you haven't listened to it in awhile, next time you do listen to the lyrics, and I personally think it fits quite well.

Exactly what I was thinking. Do you think Brooks & Dunn should do a music video for it? An example for a music video is Sam and Diane with all the kissing scenes from the show. Just an idea.

thats great and i am soooooooooooooo happy that someone finally pointed that one out, that means i,m not the only one who thinks that way,it would be great for the show, that one suits cheers so much and the aphonsphe and it,s very easier to picture that with cheers and i can see them all standing around singing that one in the bar i think that would be so cool, perhaps diane could play the piano and they could all start singing that one, there achully is a picture of the cast singing it and i think it is shelley long who is playing the piano, and wouldn,t that be great if they would all start singing it together in cheers and everyone could start singing it then, ican,t really picture rebbeca singing it somehow, mostly diane and company singing it,that song is so much of cheers, but it was written in 1973 i think so almost a decade before cheers started but it almost sounds like it could have been inspired by cheers,i LOVE THAT SONG and billy joel is one of my favorite singers, along with phil collins, bob marely, billy idol, kim mitchel and weird al and alot more,i know thats off topic, but i just had to mention it,but i love that song and i think it would just sooooooooooooooooooo perfect for cheers,i was thinking that to,but i am glad that you mentioned it,LLTPIANO MAN
