Just got a call from my brother and he informed me that our mom fell down a flight of stairs at his home and she was taken by ambulance to the hospital. We don't know the extent of her injuries at the moment other than cuts and bruises. I'm going to the hospital now which is about an hour away and will give updates as soon as I can Any thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.

Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes. Mom is doing fine, she was at the very top which is 15 stairs high and missed the first step coming down. She was showing our former neighbors my brother's home and was leaving the game room when she fell. Just cuts and bruises, nothing broken but of course she is very sore right now and will be for a few days if not longer. She also had 5 stitches above her eye.

Mom mom twice missed the last step at the bottom of the stairs. Fortunately, she was at the bottom.

Sorry about your mom Charles. Last year my mom,(she's 82) just before Christmas, tripped over a footstool in the dark and broke her shoulder. Luckily my son was living with her at the time so she wasn't alone.He got her to the hospital quickly. It took months for her to recover but she is doing well now. Hopefully your mom isn't seriously injured. :(

Hi Charles. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, just gone on the boards a few minutes ago. Sorry to hear your mom took such a nasty fall but happy to hear she's recovering. And that it wasn't worse, as your family had feared.

Charles: About a year ago my Mom fell and broke her hip. She's managed to do well since then, except for a minor fall in her yard -- thankfully not serious. (Sometimes older persons are a little too confident in their home surroundings.) Keep encouraging your mom, and reminding her to be careful. In my thoughts & prayers.
