As those of you who have been following my Simpsons reviews (I see all six of you out there) will know, a little while back The Simpsons shat out pretty much the worst episode they’ve ever done. And when you’ve got a body of work spanning two and a half decades, that is saying something.

Not to be discouraged, my pain and suffering at the hands of FOX’s animation block reminded me that you can have the most talented production staff in the world working on the best series on television and sometimes things still go tits up.

So here it is. Twenty-two of the worst episodes from great series. That’s a full network TV season’s worth of crap, and today you all get the first three entries! Count your lucky……..ah, whatever just read it.

The Simpsons isn’t on this list because “Gorgeous Grampa” is just the worst and there’s already a full-length review thattaway. While I welcome discussion and other opinions, don’t tell me I “forgot” certain shows or episodes. I can only talk about what I’ve seen, after all.

Oh, and spoilers abound. You’ve been warned.

I quit watching The Simpsons several years ago. Sometimes I try to watch a current episode and I get bored and tired of it after 5 minutes and turn it off. The dead horse has been beaten to death about 10 years ago. Just stop and bow out gracefully (Family Guy is also another good cartoon that went to dreck.)

This was not a full article, but it has a picture of actor Bradley Whitford. He was the lead in my all time favorite one season wonder "The Good Guys" with Colin Hanks (son of Tom) on FOX. I LOVED that show and it got cancelled:mad:

That show was so funny and original, sort of like a sitcom Dragnet that took place in Dallas, Texas and they filmed the exteriors of the show there, and there was a lot of local Texas flavor in the show. Everytime I see Whitford in something, I think of his character "Dan Stark".

22-I Agree, but not because Quagmire's dad becomes a lady...but Quagmire is a complete ******* in this ep, now you know why Brian Griffin is #14 on my shafted cartoon characters list.

21-18...didn't see.

17-I agree...this "South Park" ep isn't funny. Towelie was just one-dimensional and the Oprah chariacture would be funnier if she said vajayjay.

16-didn't see.

I still like the Simpsons. It isnt what it once was but its ok for me now. I'll be honest, when I watch the newer Simpsons episodes on FOX, the episodes are ok but when I watch them in syndication, I find them to be laugh out funny.

I agree. Maybe it is time for The Simpsons to be gone from new episodes for good. South Park needs to be GFNE as well.

I don't agree that South Park's time is up yet. They still manage to produce a handful of great episodes per year, and they only do 14 episodes a year anyway.

But The Simpsons should've ended in like...1999.

If you believe that, then I believe South Park should have ended after... its 8th season. In reality, SP's been renewed through Season 20... which I hope will be its last. Plus, they reduced the number of episodes per season to 10.

I have never followed any of the shows, which have been mentioned so far, so I really shouldn't comment. But some of those episodes sound crazy. Like that "South Park" episode about Oprah's... well, just read the article.

Both of those "Star Trek" episodes mentioned sound weird. How long ago were they made? Because I don't think they could have made them today.

Well, when I ooked more carefully, it turned out that three "Star Trek" episodes were mentioned, albeit from different eras. I was talking about the one, where some really stupid women manage to steal Spock's brain, and of course the one, about the black tribe. I haven't seen either one myself, but yeah, they sound weird. I guess the one about Spock's brain is older, but 1987/88 sounds lilke way too recent to have an episode, which could be seen as racist.

Looking back at the Star Trek episodes now, I can see how bad they were. Spock's Brain was really bad. I wished that Dr. Beckett could have leaped into a man or a woman and not a monkee. That is one episode I will avoid. Quagmire's Dad was the most homophobic episode ever written. Ida was a decent character and she was treated like crap. Brian throwing up for that period of time? WTF??!! Seth says he was for gay rights and it shows he is a hypocrite. It made me hate Brian so much.

Only show that I watched out of part 2,3,4 and Finale was The Sopranos. I dont think that was the worst Soprano episode. I thought the episode where Tony Bludetto got out of jail and Tony had a party for him was the worst.

Also, the episode where Tony found out some secrets about his father from an old girlfriend.
