View Full Version : 2013 has already been quite a year for Unsolved Mysteries
1990 UM fan 05-03-2013, 08:50 PM First, they charged Christian Gerhartsreiter with murder and are sentencing him next month, then David Lee Kemp turns himself in and now they have more than likely found the remains of Wendy Camp, her daughter and her sister-in-law. Restores my faith in humanity that some still care to find missing people and criminals.
RobinW 05-03-2013, 09:02 PM Kinda funny how odd numbered years seem to be good ones for solving UM cases. 2012 was quiet, but in 2011, they found Mike Riemer's skull, found Carlina White, solved Mike Emert's murder, and captured Mahfuz Huq and a couple other UM fugitives.
And in 2009, they found the Baskin children, which I'd rank up right there with Wendy Camp as rage-inducing cases that UM fans desperately wanted to see solved.
Who knows what other surprises we'll see this year?
1990 UM fan 05-03-2013, 09:42 PM Perhaps that parachute maker who turned up dead will burst the D.B. Cooper case wide open, if he's connected to the guy's death.
DALLASTEXAN!! 05-04-2013, 12:17 AM yes hopefully there are more solves in the near future!

Maybe Patricia Meehan will be found in 2015? Although the outcome of that case doesn't look good. :(

On the next Unsolved Mysteries: Why are more mysteries solved in odd number years?

2011 was awesome, one case after another. This year is heading in the same direction!
DarkDante 05-04-2013, 08:39 AM For what it's worth it's mentioned in the Jennifer Pratt thread that the statute of limitations runs out on her case this year. While it has been rumored about that the individual responsible for the assault on Jennifer Pratt and Curtis Croft is dead, it would be interesting to see if someone now comes forward.
TheCars1986 05-04-2013, 09:19 AM Not that it was featued on UM (or even "Disappeared"), but a woman named Brenda Heist was found alive and well eleven years after she disappeared. Her ex-husband and kids had her legally declared dead, and she was found alive living as a homeless woman in Florida.

They found remains they thought belonged to her and even released a composite drawing of a reconstruction of the remains that bore a striking resemblance to Patricia Meehan but no new news since then.
schmave 05-04-2013, 11:52 AM When might Audrey Moate turn up? That case is one that's stuck with me ever since I saw it air on network TV over 20 years ago.
nicoge21 05-04-2013, 03:05 PM Curtis Croft died? In recent years he's become an internet celebrity of sorts.

I keep hearing that he died too. Before that, I thought he was some online star on some Battleship game or whatever it is he played. Can someone clarify this?
tamanshud 05-04-2013, 05:43 PM I didn't remember the names in the camp story, but connected the dots midway through the article. Definitely glad this one is solved. And here's to many more resolutions!
TracyLynnS 05-04-2013, 05:46 PM Is Curtis Croft his real name and is that the correct spelling? I just searched and didn't find anyone in his age group with that name on the Social Security Death Index.
nicoge21 05-04-2013, 08:53 PM Do a google search for "curtis croft battlecam" and you will see videos of him.
RobinW 05-05-2013, 02:12 AM I think the whole "Curtis Croft is dead" thing was a false rumour that was spread on these boards and debunked a few years ago. The confusion came because the person who is believed to have swung the board at Jenny committed suicide sometime in the nineties. I'm pretty sure Curtis is still alive.
TheCars1986 05-05-2013, 11:59 AM The ********* is still alive. Google "Curtis Croft hates Mexicans" and you'll see a video of the man, the myth, the legend in all his glory.

I just found another video of him being completely incoherent in a video about the UM case. What is wrong with him?
TracyLynnS 05-05-2013, 02:31 PM 20 seconds into the vid, I couldn't take it anymore
and had to shut him up.
What an extensive vocabulary he possesses.
All the words start with "F".

Is it weird that the first thought that came to mind when I clicked that link was, "God I hate his face..."?
