Wel we know he liked Westerns, he talked about them quite a bit and John Wyan. He liked the 3 Stooges, he talked about some of those goofy horror movies, I can't see him as enjoying horror movies but he mentioned one or 2.

Regarding cartoons, he read Dennis the Menace comic books -- so maybe he was also a fan of the TV versions (animated and old live-action). He was also seen reading a Tarzan comic book.

He could have been like my grandpa and said Black ppl make the best entertainers lol

My grandpa was SORTA in ways bigoted but was not aware of it, but he was bigoted but was not really aware of it. He was bigoted in the sense that he would PRAISE other races and cultures but I've hear ppl find that offensive as well, like he would say, "Black ppl are naturally funny" "Chinese ppl are the smartest ppl on the planet and things like that.

I think you're mistaken if you believe a bigoted person like Archie wouldn't have watched African-American series -- in the past, entertainers like Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Diahann Carroll, Robert Guillaume, and Cicely Tyson all did a lot of TV work, and it's a certainty that at least a portion of those watching were bigoted to some degree...! The popularity of stars like these stretched across all lines.

Being a war veteran,he might have watched "Combat" and "Twelve O'Clock High" in the sixties. The LAST show he probably would have ever watched would have been the hugely anti-establishment "Smothers Brothers".Even worse for him than "Pinko Cronkite"!

What year did The Six Million Dollar Man enter syndication? Until then, Arch wouldn't have been able to watch it "everyday" (especially in those years before home VCRs!).

The Million Dollar Man came out in the 1970's 1974, Archie would most likely watch the girls next door the playboy show for perverted men ofcourse archie would be in trouble with his wife edith and she would want to divorce him for watching a show like that on TV lol

It was in the late 70's. I remember it being on 5 days a week when it first entered syndication. It didn't last long on my locals though.

I think I also remembered Archie loved watching Westerns with John Wayne.

From the 1971 Primetime TV schedule Archie may have watched...

Sunday: The FBI then Bonanza

Monday: Gunsmoke and Monday Night Football

Tuesday: Ironside, Hawaii 5-0, and Cannon

Wednesday: Adam 12, The NBC Mystery Movie (Columbo, etc), and Mannix

Thursday: The CBS Thursday Night Movie

Friday: who knows? Was that his bowling night??

Saturday: NBC Saturday Night at the Movies

Of course he also watched the nightly news, midget wrassling, Duke Wayne movies, Mets games, football, and anything with Sammy Davis Jr.

Definitely, I can see him loving Hannity, Huckabee and O'Reilly!

Archie would have gladly watched 1980s family sitcoms with Joey whenever he was over, except The Cosby Show, for obvious reasons.

Archie wouldn't exclude Bill Cosby from his viewing just because he's black -- witness his admiration of Sammy Davis Jr.

Actually it would be The Meathead who would exclude The Cosby Show from shows for Joey, because he wouldn't want his son to believe that African-Americans can be affluent.

I wasn’t going to bump this thread but I thought I just had to when I stumbled upon a post like this:

Archie would not have liked to see his enemy george jefferson have his own show as a rich black man who owns 12 cleaning stores in america lol

How in hell was Archie going to see George on TV, having his own show? Both were fictional, or in other words, they were NOT real.

Archie said if not for sports, he'd throw the TV into the Gowanus Canal after the TV 'nutworks' turned Stephanie into little "Joan" Fonda. He also mentioned watching Rifleman, pro wrestling, Wild Kingdom, Gilligan's Island, In Search Of, and anything with John Wayne.

According to the show, Archie liked football, baseball (he played the game well as a youth) and boxing. He also watched the evening news. Old films from his era was another favorite.

If he were still alive would probably watch a lot of FOX News.

MLB baseball and NFL football. Boxing if it happened to be on, which it was. He also watched the national news although he had a low opinion of Walter Cronkite. Probably old movies from around the WWII era and before.

Also, Sanford and Son, because those coloreds were funny as hell.
