Do you think willis should have dated the girl that had a crush on him instead of arnold, i no he did not want to hurt his brother feelings by going out with the girl little arnold had a crush on at his school.

Too bad Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover" was replaced (in the scene with Arnold dancing) with a generic instrumental when "The Rivals" was released on DVD as part of the season two "Strokes" DVD box set in 2006. In fact, the same instrumental was used when the clip appeared in the episode "Valentine's Day Retrospective," airing later that same season.
"The Rivals" is, sadly, not the first time one of The Artist Forever Known As Prince's songs was replaced with a generic instrumental due to licensing issues; in season four's "The Health Club," about forty-five seconds of Kimberly and Adelaide exercising to "Controversy" was excised from the episode when the fourth season of "Strokes" was released (by Shout! Factory) on DVD in 2012.
A thought just occurred to me while I was typing this post, folks: I wonder if Mill Creek Entertainment's reissue of season two (Mill Creek reissued the first two seasons of "Strokes" in 2014) has "I Wanna Be Your Lover" intact in "The Rivals"...definitely gonna have to check that out someday.

"The Rivals" also marks Charlotte Rae's final appearance as Mrs. Garrett on "Strokes" until season six's "The Wedding" (she moved over to "The Facts Of Life" full-time until her departure in 1986, following "Fact's" seventh season). I often wonder if "The Rivals" had been videotaped early in the second season along with "Arnold's Hero" (guest-starring the legendary Muhammad Ali); I know for a fact that "Arnold's Hero" was the first episode videotaped for season two (it was the fifth episode to air that season). I have a question, guys: Was "Arnold's Hero" originally intended to be the second season premiere instead of the hour-long "Arnold's Girlfriend" (re-edited as a two-part episode for syndication and DVD), guest-starring Dabney Coleman? Drop me a line...I'd love to hear from you.
