Would an episode where Sam gets to be inside the body of mcgyver and has to find his way out of danger from traps from enemies work out for a good episode ?

Um, sure- if Universal and Paramount ever wanted to unite on such a project. I don't know that Quantum Leap and MacGyver would have crossed over when they aired- particularly since MacGyver aired on ABC and Quantum Leap aired on NBC. But I am a fan of both shows- in fact, they are both some of my favorite shows ever. It is fun to read about Sam and Mac crossing over in fanfiction though- and you can find plenty of that on fanfiction.net

However, you may be interested to know that there were plans at one time for Quantum Leap to sort of crossover with Magnum, P.I.
The idea was for Sam Beckett to Leap into Tom Selleck on the set of Magnum, P.I. - The TV show had already been established as being a TV show in Sam's universe (the episode "Play It Again, Seymour" has Sam referencing Thomas Magnum along with other fictional detectives. Also, the episode "Another Mother", where Sam has Leaped into a single mother in the year 1981, actually shows one of the mother's daughters watching an episode of "Magnum, P.I."- Sam even tells the child that she doesn't have to rush into the house to see the show- it'll be on for the next 8 years.)
