Lisa said that some lady emailed her manager and told him that she isn't going to read the journal enties anymore because she felt that Lisa is "lording" her family's trips over everyone. This lady couldn't afford a trip for her family. Lisa apologize to everyone if anyone else felt the way as that lady. I think that lady could be jealous. It is her loss if she stop reading Lisa's journal entries. I'm not jealous of Lisa's good fortune. I'm happy with her and her family.

That's so selfish, Lisa Whelchel shouldn't apoligize because someone is jealous of her! That makes me feel bad because Lisa is such a good person :( ...

You're right. I'm sorry. Lisa handled it graciously, and I even admit sometimes I've felt a little jealous at Lisa's good fortune.
Hey Tad!! Get a life!!!! Jealous punk.

(Yes, as a matter of fact, I DO what the little voices tell me.)

Life is split into 2 parts- the Good, and the Bad

Sure, aren't we all a tad bit jealous of Lisa. I mean, come on, admit it. But I don't think any of us would have the nerve to email her. I mean couldn't the lady just suck it in? I feel bad for Lisa, having to apologize to the lady. It shouldn't happen that way. Some people need to realize Lisa's life isn't all money and fortune. She's had hard times, like that whole weight scandal back in the 80's. And, in the early 90's when she was practically broke. [read her second book] And now she might just be getting sued, along with her grandmother dying whom has been like a second mother to her through her life. Everyone's life is hard, even though sometimes they don't show it.

Now to my other side of this opinion- I feel sorry for the lady. Not everyone can be as lucky as Lisa on Lisa's good side of life. I mean I don't know how many people get to go on RV trips, get the free motor coach, blah blah blah. But the lady must understand, that Lisa is not bragging. She's only trying to spread the joy of this whole trip and share it with all her friends and fans through "Coffee Talk". Sure, she was rich back in the 80's, got to be on TV, magazines, all that. But, Fame isn't everything. So now as I wrap up my 2 cents on this thing, I hope the lady gets to understand sometime in her lifetime, that, we can't have everything in life, but to be grateful for what we do have. And I hope she gets to forgive Lisa somewhere in her heart [even though Lisa didn't do stuff], and that she resumes reading "Coffee Talk".

I agree....

I sent Lisa an e-mail of encouragement, because I know that if that happened to me, I'd feel awful that people thought I was trying to "lord my experiences over everyone!"I know I'd need some encouragement!......lol, she'll probably never get it though!

I don't know how everyone else feels. Personally I enjoy Lisa's Journal. I also find it very generous of her to take time out of her life to share it with her fans. Go Lisa.

I think what is really going on with Lisa, from what I gather, is that she's not really getting freebies and all because she's "entitled" them because she's a "star" or anything, my guess is that a lot of businesses and persons load her up with all sorts of goodies because they have an idea that she DOESN'T have a lot of money coming in, they see that she and her family are doing a major road trip and it's quite an undertaking. She basically has to sell her books for gas money and all, and even though Steve has two jobs, it demands quite a bit of money regardless. She basically has to promote herself, and she is very fortunate that she has all these fans to support her. I think also that these persons who give freebies and such also feel it's good business for them, because when Lisa mentions it in her journal,
that means viewers will want to take advantage of people who were nice to Lisa and her family. (I.e., Tiffin, Wal-mart, Cracker Barrell Restaurants, Starbucks, etc.) I felt really bothered and irritated last fall that she seemed to have it "a little too good", but
I realized she did NOT want to brag, she wanted us to be happy with her. It hasn't been easy all this time, but this is more than just a vacation, this is life for them at this point. I also wonder if she was able to get a message through to this one lady who complained, I don't really understand the whole idea that Lisa was "lording" over her family's experiences.

I think you certainly should, Karli. I think Lisa needs supportive e-mails right now to far outnumber that negative e-mail.
