The Hallmark store in my area closed down. :( I don't think there's one close to me anymore. Such a shame.
I hope Hallmark isn't going out of business. It's my favorite store.

I think that most Hallmark Stores are privately owned by local people. We lost ours years ago but there are still a lot of them around! I like their Springbok Puzzles line. But I can also get the puzzles on the internet.:)

I do love the cards Hallmark has...and coming from someone who lives where American Greetings is at.

Jenny, I'm sorry to hear that your favorite store closed. Hallmark stores are franchised. Another one may pop up near you. There's one near my home. I used to shop there all the time. They have a large selection of Thomas Kinkaid merchandise, especially calendars. I think the internet and the lousy economy are killing stores like those.

I have a Hallmark store right near me. It seems like there a little too expensive for my taste. Hell, if Hallmark stores are run anything like The Hallmark Channel, I can see why there stores are shutting down.

Thanks. :) You have agood point, the internet and the economy have probably played a big part in this store and a lot of other stores closing down.

Th'at ture, the things in Hallmark tend to be pricey. I like when there is a coupon. Plus, it's just interesting sometimes to look at what they have plus all the cards.

In my city, we have two. However, ours are called "Kirlin's Hallmark." It's a gift shop chain carrying Hallmark merchandise, with over 100 stores in the Midwest. Interestingly, Quincy (where I live) is where the chain originated over 60 years ago.

That is a shame. I love Hallmark as well and used to work for them back in 1994. Almost got a management position in the mall I worked at in Dallas, but things turned out for the better b/c I ended up getting a much better job in the long run.
