because I don't remember it, and I'm 55 years old. What was it; a revival of "LEAVE IT TO BEAVER"? If so, were any of the originals in it? It sounds like it must have been pretty bad.

Mr. Drucker 04-18-2013, 09:20 AM It was mediocre at best. And yes, they did bring back the same child characters as adults.Ken Osmond reprised his role as Eddie Haskel, the late Frank Bank returned as Lumpy Rutherford, and of course what would a LITB reunion be without Mr. Larry Mondello himself,Mr. Robert "Rusty" Stevens!I remember when CBS aired the tv movie called "Still the Beaver" and it yes it was wonderful, but stretching it out into a new series was a bit over the top. Marvo301 04-18-2013, 01:46 PM The show was about Wally, The Beav, and Eddie raising children of their own. The Beav was divorced and he and his two sons had moved back in with his recently widowed mother. (Hugh Beaumont had passed away before this series began) Wally and his family lived next door. Beaver worked with Lumpy at the same company their fathers worked together at in the original show. Beaver's son and Eddie's son were best friends. treky 04-23-2013, 11:56 PM glad I never saw it, it sounds AWFUL!!! 70s show watcher 07-24-2013, 07:54 PM glad I never saw it, it sounds AWFUL!!!it was not too bad it was not as good as the original show but it wasant an embersment ether comedyfreak 09-30-2013, 05:57 AM I thought it was a great show, watched every week. Beav's oldest son was friends with Eddie Haskel's son (real life son of Ken Osmond) he even had the over complimenting of Mrs Cleaver down to a tee. That was back when WTBS did their own syndicated shows along with Rocky Road, and Down To Earth. Mace Dolex 08-05-2014, 03:03 PM Was this taped in front of a live audience, or was it done like shows like The Office, 30 Rock? They were big on sequels from old sitcoms, making the characters grown up! :) Bonniegirl 08-05-2014, 04:06 PM Was this taped in front of a live audience, or was it done like shows like The Office, 30 Rock? Not sure. But I don't think it was. :) Mace Dolex 08-05-2014, 06:39 PM Around that time they had The New Gidget Speaking of Gidget, the actress that played her may not have gone to bigger things but I stil see her time to time in commercials, after all these years I remember her face since I thought she was cute in The New Gidget. I looked her up on IMDB, she's Caryn Richman. gogxmagog 09-24-2014, 12:34 AM you know, I was watching that Seth MacFarlane kid on tv the other night and I thought to myself "That idiot looks just like the beaver! Holy s&%# and I slammed the TV shut! The "Here comes jerry mathers" show reviewed here was an embarassing parade of out of work has beens, which i think is what they based most of the scripts on wasnt it? I seem to remember them dealing with failure quite often (not that I've seen more than 5 or six eps...I was heavily medicated at the time it aired, so... hard to tell) visaman666 09-24-2014, 01:45 AM I watched the show, but when Wally's daughter Kelly"Borrowed" June's pearls and dropped them down the sewer, or some such nonsense, I boycotted the show with extreme prejudice  treky 09-24-2014, 01:55 AM I'm the one who started this thread; just want to say I do remember it now. I was on vacation in Calif. back in 1988 and I remember I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and checked into my hotel room and turned on the TV to relax. I turned to WTBS (now TBS) and saw that this was on. Since I had never seen it I decided to watch it. It was so bad I turned it off after 5 minutes. |
