So I had a UM video saved on my phone (the Resurrection Mary segment) and I decided to try and post it on (forbidden site). I was able to and it was up there for a few days... Well Cosgrove and Meurer must monitor (forbidden site) a lot since it's already been taken down. >:( I just got the email today!

I doubt it has anything to do with copyright infringement...they were probably just sick of seeing it since that seems to be the most overused segment that they ever aired on Lifetime.

I think they troll this board to find out where people are posting the segments, too. I'm hoping the reason is because they are in negotiations with a network to start re-airing UM, and that network is hesitant to proceed because of segments being posted online in the past.....but I doubt it.

It's funny, UM being posted online is a really positive thing! It can potentially solve some of the cases!!!! So many things get posted on the internet that are horrible (you know, like you fall off of your bike and the next thing you know the world is laughing at you on the internet....or you needed a couple of bucks in college and agreed to do a little "video" and 20 years later it's on the net for your kids to see LMAO). THAT stuff is crappy, as is cyberbullying and a whole bunch of other stuff....but the UM segments can actually help investigators solve crimes because of the world wide exposure! (OK, rant over LOL)

No, I doubt they're in negotiation . They just want to deprive people from seeing it because they are so ignorant to not be able to get it on TV or release proper DVDs.And they want to deprive the victims and their families. Just my opinion but they have kind of proven my point by selling out to SPIKE .

My DVR is set to record 4 back to back episodes on Lifetime tomorrow. I'm not sure if it's going to be back in regular rotation or not. Kinda doubt it, but I'm just excited to see it again, even if it is old episodes.

The Robert Stack version of UM is on Lifetime tomorrow?

Update!: It's on today, alright!: http://www.mylifetime.com/d6/lifetime-tv-schedule

Does anyone know if these episodes are the Farina or Stack episodes? Since I am at work, i'll only be able to catch one episode : ( Still looking forward to this. if Lifetime wants to bring it back, they can take off all the other stupid shows they have on their life Wife Swap or that "Dance Moms" show

Not sure, but I'm guessing they're the Farina episodes. I have school and work all day, then I have something to do tonight, so I won't get to see them until probably the weekend. :(

Holy cow!!! How did we not know this until now? Is this just a one time thing?

Edit. Unfortunately, it's the Farina version of the show which I could care less about unless there are updates.

Someone just posted on a different thread that it's the Farina episodes. Better than nothing...

I have a feeling it probably is a one time thing.

Yeah really, how can Latoya Jackson have a reality show yet no one airs reruns of UM? You know the world has gone to a bad place when people would actually prefer to watch the stupid Kardashians over a cool show like UM.

Annnnnnnnnnnd Cosgrove and Meurer strikes again.

In case anyone was wondering, I was "John Andrews" on the forbidden site and I put up 48 segments in the last 2 months. All of them were removed by Cosgrove and Meurer an hour ago. Listing the videos under "UM" instead of Unsolved Mysteries gave me 2 1/2 months but they eventually caught on.

As usual, this is a complete middle finger to the loved ones of all the segments that are still unsolved. That's why I included the police station numbers for every unsolved segment I could find.

Cosgrove and Meurer, just plain evil.

I was just on your channel this morning. Sucks to here that your hard work has been erased. I wish they'd take a hint and see that uploading the episodes themselves is beneficiary in more than one way.

That's especially insulting when you consider the recent events with the Wendy Camp case, which is finally getting resolved after 21 long years. You'd think that might have been a wake-up call that it's NEVER too late to solve these cases and that giving them more exposure can only be a good thing, but I guess not. It wouldn't surprise me if they never even get around to updating Wendy's case on their website.

Good point. The only good thing about that segment was it actually had a somewhat-famous actor in Bill Moseley, playing the bomber.

Grr. Your time and effort is appreciated, Dynoguy. Thanks to all who have posted episodes. And a big BOOOOOOOO to Cosgrove and Meurer.

Why all UM episodes on (fill in the blank) websites have been suddenly removed after several years of viewing is beyond me.

It may be of little help, but I'm thinking of sending an email to Cosgrove and Meurer about this. Maybe if a group of UM fanatics sends enough of them it will send a message, at least to the extent that they'll realize how selfish this move looks to their fan base.

The forbidden site is starting to really promote their pay/subscription channels. Any chance CM is going to do their own pay channel there?

Sorta O/T, I hardly ever go to the forbidden site anymore but about a month ago, I decided to google the name I use on instagram, which is similar to the name I use on the video site. Everything I ever liked, saved, commented on, put into a playlist, subscribed to, etc, all showed up on the google returns.

Yesterday I visited the site again, and even without signing in, it was suggesting content to me based on things I'd watched before. It's so creepy and stalkerish. I quit Facebook because it was so intrusive and it looks like instagram and the video site are just as bad about saving your info and targeting you.

If that site did end up having a pay UM channel, I would be disappointed if the site tracked my viewing habits and blabbed it all over the internet, since logging in would be required for using the pay channel. Not sure if I'd subscribe or not...

I strongly suggest sending physical letters, because they carry more weight than emails. They are physical proof that you took the time and effort to conduct and mail your letter, whereas emails - no matter how well-intentioned - often imply laziness and are easily deleted and forgotten. But if a company were flooded with physical letters, well, that would be a lot tougher to ignore - especially if the letters are inside #10 business-size envelopes.

Those are my feelings exactly. The forbidden site is the biggest most popular video site on the Internet. Keeping cold cases, like all of the still unsolved segments on there doesn't hurt anyone and it keeps the cases in the public eye 24/7. it's not just the diehard fans of UM I want to get those videos out to.

Just last week, I got a pm from the brother of Norman Ladner, thanking me for putting the case up.

Again, you're thinking WAY too logically here. Cosgrove and Meurer probably think MYSPACE is still hip. Or Friendster more likely.

And if they did it would be all Farina. Yes ,they're that big of dicks.

lol @ myspace! I had one back in the day.

login info so I could take it all down. That
was so long ago, I was probably using an

Wow - I just went on to search out a couple of cases (I had your page saved as a "Favorite"), and got the "error" message. Like others, I'm sorry to see your hard work go down the tubes, but thanks for giving it a shot. Truth be told, I always had you pegged as being the "UMyoucantstopme" guy on there. :D

Maybe if we stopped advertising it they wouldn't know where to look to take them down.

Most of the cases that were just removed were on these websites for over five years. It's not as if we're giving anything away right now. I am sure they knew these cases were available to be seen, and for some reason have decided recently to pursue removal. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

mtaylor72

The logical thing to do would be to make torrents of the videos. Someone has already done it (sorta), but the quality is horrible from what I've read.

Once the videos are torrented and distributed, it would be rather difficult for them to have them removed due to the way torrents work.

My point was if we keep saying oh they're back on the forbidden site, you just have to look harder, it's going to give more reason for Cosgrove and Meurer to seek out and remove the cases. The less we say, the better.
