View Full Version : If I went to the store to buy a mouse trap, then why am I annoyed when
TVFactFan 04-15-2013, 07:59 PM I come home and see that I caught one? LOL
I think part of me just hopes the traps scare them off which prevents me from seeing a dead mouse when I come home from work lol It was so unexpected and was not planning on coming home seeing a dead mouse captured by the trap.
I move out of this apt on May 31st, can I go the remaining days without
1. seeing a mouse
OR
2. seeing a dead mouse
LOL
*ROGER* 04-15-2013, 09:32 PM I guess you don't have a cat to chase the mice and eat them since you're getting the traps. An attack cat would be better because if he gobbled them up, you wouldn't have to see the dead mouse.

Nope all I have is the traps lol

Many years ago, my grandparents had a mouse problem so they got a cat just for the purpose of chasing and eating the mice. LOL. The cat was a natural. A real killer!
I'd advise you to get a cat, too, but you're moving soon.
robyrob 04-15-2013, 10:19 PM i have 5 cats, and every single one of them is useless as mouse catchers.
I actually watched Jynx literally reach out and gently pet a mouse that was on the chair beside him.
one of my previous cats, Mudge was a great mouser - my neighbor had a problem with moles in his back yard so we brought Mudgie over there and showed him the mole holes, the next morning he had left a pile of about a dozen dead moles stacked up on my neighbors back porch.
Some cats are better mousers than others; get a cat because you want one, not because it might catch a mouse.
Brieannas21 04-15-2013, 10:54 PM Why don't you look under your cabinets to find out where they are getting in and plug the whole.

There is no one way they are getting in. It's several ways for them to get in
But I prefer to catch them when I;m not home. I would throw up if I the trap go off while I;m in here watching TV:lol:

How many big holes or gaps do you have in your apartment?

Since when does someone who has mice have ONE MICE HOLE? lol

They would usually use one hole that they have made. How many holes do you have? Maybe you need to call and tell your landlord, that's their problem not yours.

Does it really matter at this point? I have 45 days left in this sh*t hole lol

It doesn't take much for a mouse to get in. If you can push your pinkie through it, the average mouse can use it as an entry.
TVFactFan, please tell me you bought the old fashioned, Tom & Jerry snap traps and not those horribly inhumane glue traps. Both are fatal, but the snap traps make it fast.

Yes since they can carry disease, mites, fleas and all kinds of bugs.

ya, mice don't have a spine; so they can squeeze through an opening the size of a dime.

Our house is surrounded by woods, we haven't had any mice or rats in our house, but we did have two huge wood rats in our shed and that is where we keep our animal feed. So we mixed broken glass and a cement mixture together and plugged the small hole that they had made. Plus a little rat poison helped.
