I think Uncle Joe's idea of running the Hotel is to get the girls (and Dog!) to do all the work!!

What would you suggest for the producers to have done? To say "It is run by Billie Jo and Bobbie Jo?" No, that wasn't in the cards.

Practically, saying Joe's running the Shady Rest was the easiest way to edit Bea out of the introduction once she was gone -- in other words, it was the least disruptive path to take.
