Actually he was late 40s or early 50s i believe Neutronman67 04-18-2013, 04:05 PM Yeah they used some good age makeup on Redd Foxx in some ways the character fred sanford looked older than 65 he looked like he was 80 years old lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBTXyun5iH4 Frump 11-15-2013, 08:46 PM Do you think Fred was too energetic for a 65 year old man ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LSljsbpJ58 Not really, I mean 65 is NOT like ancient by any means. Cloud9 Lorraine 11-16-2013, 10:34 AM Redd was born in December of 1922, so his real age during the series was 49-55. Sammy Reed 11-17-2013, 01:58 AM Do you think Fred was too energetic for a 65 year old man ? Yeah! And especially when he got down here on "Sanford"! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukmv4m8k0XE I think in the very beginning, the character acted old and sluggish, but that ended later on. txz045 11-17-2013, 02:53 AM He was right on with the energy level. comedyfreak 11-17-2013, 06:40 PM I think he was right on the mark energy wise. installLSC 11-17-2013, 07:10 PM Oh I've known plenty of sixtyish people who have the energy of someone half their age. Plus you got to remember a lead character who just sits in his comfy chair all the time makes for a pretty boring show. Frump 11-25-2013, 12:48 AM Well Redd and Demond were both about 10 years younger than what they were playing. But I don't really consider 65 to be an "old-timer" I think in your 60s you are moving into old age, but 65 is not what I'd call an old-timer. But I think it's subjective. I've known 50 year old who act more energetic than a lot of 20 year olds lol I was surprised when I heard the guy who played GRady was in he 40s in real life!!! TO me Grady always seemed older than Fred. Will Dockery 01-02-2014, 10:15 AM Sometimes yes, but remember at the time this show aired, Redd Foxx was playing older than he actually was at the time. Actually he was late 40s or early 50s i believe Simarly, watching the very early episodes I was surprised to be reminded how mean Lamont came across to his father. Glad he was "softened" down over time, really, to when he spoke to Pops there was genuine affection. |
