View Full Version : My dog goes NUTS......
Regulus 04-11-2013, 09:27 PM Whenever I watch Lassie or any other Show or Movie with a dog (or any other critter) in it. He tries his best to communicate with the animal on TV. He even recognizes the opening theme and comes running into the room.
Do any of you have pets that react to the sight of animals on TV?
*ROGER* 04-11-2013, 09:31 PM I have two dogs. Neither one of them reacts to any animals on television. But one of them (the West Highland Terrier) HOWLS like crazy whenever he hears certain wind instruments from the classical music I sometimes play. He really reacts to any Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, etc.
Family Ties Forever! 04-11-2013, 10:32 PM My sister taught her dog to bark loudly when she puts dog videos on or turns on Animal Planet and dogs are on.
yankeesrj12 04-12-2013, 01:05 PM If Too Cute (Animal Planet) is on, my dog will sit in front of the television and watch.
catlover79 04-12-2013, 03:02 PM That's too funny. I was watching The Bob Newhart Show on DVD once, and my cat's ears went flat at the end of the credits when the MTM Productions kitty Mimsie meowed. :cat: :kitties:
It's funny how some animals react to television. My mom's little dog will bark if she hears a dog barking on tv, otherwise she just ignores it.
Janice 04-12-2013, 05:28 PM I bought a dvd for my two cats. It's called Cat Sitter. It has birds, hamsters, mice, fish, other cats and more. It really holds their interest. It's so cute how they sit there side by side. Usually one of them will start scratching on the bottom of the big screen tv. They want to get them, lol. Animals are so amusing.
shotzette 04-12-2013, 05:31 PM My younger dog will stare at the TV if she hears any animal making noises, even if we explain to her that the dog on that episode of Mission: Impossible has been dead for decades.
Our kitten tend to like to watch golf. The little white ball rolling across the green really gets her attention. Unfortunately, she's starting to bat at the screen which will not be funny when she's larger.

I guess enjoy it while she's still too small to cause any damage!!!

America's Funniest Home Videos had an episode where a TV set was tuned into a Indy Car Race and a cat would swat at the race cars as they went across the screen.  :rotflmao: :brent
Zoneboy 04-12-2013, 10:00 PM My cats love Star Trek. ;)

Ditto with my dog, Sammy (A Toy Poodle BTW) He's yapping at a dawg that crossed the Rainbow Bridge at least four decades ago! :rip: I hear the Weatherwax Family still breeds collies that are descendants of the dogs from the TV Series, and I'm certain they sell for TOP Dollar!
Family Ties Forever! 04-13-2013, 09:39 PM Every now and then the colors from the tv catch my cat Romeo's attention. Other than that, he doesn't really care. He likes to be by me when I watch tv.
