View Full Version : Kramer a racist in the fictional world on seinfeld Neutronman67 04-09-2013, 05:56 PM Do you think the fake character kramer is racist on seinfeld ? AKA 04-09-2013, 06:33 PM No. *ROGER* 04-09-2013, 07:05 PM On Seinfeld, there was never any indication that Kramer was a racist. AKA 04-09-2013, 07:44 PM Honestly, I don't think Michael Richards is racist in real life, either. He said some horrible, vile things back in 2006 during that infamous standup show, but those words in the context he said them don't necessarily make him racist; they make him stupid (at least in the moment). He apologized, and was a good sport when he poked fun at the incident on Curb Your Enthusiasm a few years ago. king of comedy 04-09-2013, 07:46 PM On Seinfeld, there was never any indication that Kramer was a racist. Michael Richards made a racist remark when he stand up a few years ago. He used the N word. I forgot why he said but I think he had an argument with somebody in the audience. *ROGER* 04-09-2013, 07:47 PM Michael Richards made a racist remark when he stand up a few years ago. He used the N word. I forgot why he said but I think he had an argument with somebody in the audience. That was Michael Richards the person, not Cosmo Kramer the TV character. AKA 04-09-2013, 07:49 PM Michael Richards made a racist remark when he stand up a few years ago. He used the N word. I forgot why he said but I think he had an argument with somebody in the audience. He was trying to piss off some hecklers in the audience while simultaneously trying to be edgy. It was totally the wrong way to go about it. He handled it terribly. There are comedians who can handle hecklers beautifully; Michael Richards isn't one of them. Really, there's no good reason to use racial slurs, though I must admit to laughing at them within the context of the standup comedy of Louis CK. It's all about context and delivery. Neutronman67 04-10-2013, 12:44 PM No i dont think the actor who played kramer is a racist in real life i think he was just drunk and upset but he shoudent have said those things at the club when he new good and well black people were in the building listening to him and would get offended and humiliated lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82Aut0WrrhY Ant-Lox 04-12-2013, 12:28 PM Michael Richards, the person, seems like a cool guy, he lost his cool, and tried to turn the tides on a heckler, but went about it the wrong way. I'm black, I don't care about the word, it has no power over me, so I don't find what he did to be wrong, but people like to be offended, so that's why it turned into a big deal. Kramer on the other hand, didn't seem to be racist, he was just from another planet. He got along with everyone on the show from blacks, to Asians, to Cubans (Dominicans). |
