Ok, guys.....i'm trying to loose like 10lbs, and Ihave a suggestion I guess a few of ya ladys could answer.....

How the hell do you deal w/ cravings? Everytime I start a diet, it goes great at school....but the minute I get home everything looks sooo good. I mean, everything! And before the night is over I end up screwing up my diet, and the samet hing happens over and over. Any suggestions?!

Hmm...good question. I have never been on a diet myself, but if I were, and if I had this problem, here's some things I think I might try doing.

For one, try to find things you love to eat that are good for you too. For example, for me at least, eating some celery or raw broccoli would be just as satisfying as cookies (maybe I'm just weird). Or fruit is always good, and naturally sweet.

Other than that, I'm not really sure. Maybe just try to have as much willpower as you can, and think of things you can do so that you can reward yourself with a treat later. Like if you stick to your diet for a week, have a little something to reward yourself. Or if you do really well on an exam, reward yourself. Now of course, you can't go rewarding yourself all the time, try to save it for something special.

Also, don't beat up on yourself if you "mess up" your diet. Now I guess it's not a good thing if you are going off it everyday, but giving into temptation every once in awhile won't necessarily ruin your diet. In fact I just read something about that in a magazine a few months ago--about how women beat up on themselves way to much for giving into temptation. If I remember where I read it, or find the article, I'll post it here.

JoJo, This is a complicated, hard to conquer, and pain in the butt, age old problem you're dealing with. And there are no easy remedies to wanting to eat what you want to eat when the heck ever you want to eat it! BUT! It sounds to me like you're trying to basically starve yourself during the day and hoping that you can keep that up till you blisfully go off to sleep and do it all again tomorrow. That, I can tell you, is a mistake. Eat "normally" during the day and you won't be so famished later on. The worst time to pile it in is at night because your body doesn't have a chance to burn it off. Also, try real hard to find some kind of sport, exercise, activity something you'll discover that you enjoy and will continue to do without feeling you have to force yourself. That will help you a lot even when you fall down on your ideal eating habits. Good luck, good luck, good luck!
