"True Blood" Exclusive: Anna Camp Returning as Sarah Newlin in Season 6
by Michael Ausiello
4/5/13

"True Blood‘s" upcoming sixth season is going to be extra Camp-y.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Anna Camp has signed on to reprise her role as anti-vamp puritan Sarah Newlin for a guest stint.

Camp, who’s currently juggling roles on Fox’s "The Mindy Project" and CBS’ "Vegas", floated the possibility of a Sarah comeback earlier this year, telling TVLine that her character has “a lot of unfinished business.”

No doubt at the top of her to-do list is confronting ex-husband and former Fellowship of the Sun co-head Steve (Michael McMillian), who is now an out-and-proud gay man and a vampire.

Don’t be surprised if she also finds time to reconnect with ex-flame Jason, which would put her at odds with his current love, Jessica. (Anna Camp going head-to-head with Deborah Ann Woll? Count. Us. In.)

"True Blood‘s" sixth season kicks off Sunday, June 16 at 9/8c.

Keck's Exclusives First Look: Anna Camp Goes Back to "True Blood"
Jun 17, 2013
by William Keck

Holier-than-thou horndog Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) was last seen on HBO's "True Blood" as a minister's cheating Mrs. back in 2009.

When the crazed character reappears in Bon Temps on June 30, we'll learn "she's written a best-selling book about what it means to be a Christian fighting vampires," Camp says. "And she's working her way into politics, because she's craving more power and fame."

That ain't all she's craving. "Sarah is a very sexual lady who still has a soft place in her heart for Jason Stackhouse," she says.

"There's a scene where I come over to his house after a long, hard day and things ensue."

We can also look forward to Sarah landing another sexual conquest (Eric?), and having an awkward reunion with ex-husband Steve (Michael McMillian), who has transformed into a gay bloodsucker.

"Sarah is not happy about what's become of him and confronts him head-on," she says.

And what does Steve have to say for himself? "He's not really in a position to be able to speak."
