"Hannibal" Opens OK

"Hannibal" didn't take a bite out of the competition Thursday, but it did give NBC some life.
Bryan Fuller's prequel adaptation of Thomas Harris' novels premiered to 4.3 million viewers and a 1.6 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic.
Though obviously low, the numbers are NBC's best in the once-revered Thursdays-at-10 slot since March 15 last year.
"Hannibal" was also up from "Rock Center's" and "Do No Harm's" performances in the slot this season, both of which averaged a 0.9 rating.
Compared to "Awake's" debut in the time period last year, "Hannibal" was down 2 million viewers and four-tenths.
"Hannibal" also improved on lead-in "Go On" (2.4 million, 1.1), which dropped a full point in its "Voice"-less Thursday debut.
