She brings him to her apartment for he claimed his father wasn't home. Later he calls his dad and he comes to pick him up. While he is at Ann's apartment, he tells Ann that he is a poor boy with many siblings and his dad is struggling and gets her sympathy. The dad tells Ann his son is only child and they live on Park AVenue.
