The Camera Manufactures and Stores/Dealers are trying to convince people that the low light Optical sensor CMOS in Digital cameras is much better than the more common CCD. This is a misconception. The CCD is better than the CMOS. I bought a brand new Nikon point and shoot at best buy with CMOS and was steered away from a Nikon with CCD, and wish I'd taken the camera with the CCD sensor instead. The video was shaky and jellowy. This means the image on the view screen was unstable and wouldn't stay still. Also the image was wobbly too. I went back and the sales guy said it was probably just a bad camera. I bought a Sony this time and it also had CMOS in it. It also was jittery and wobbly. I went and got a refund and bought a pre owned Sony point and shoot online with CCD in it and it works great. No wobbling or shaky affect. I love it. The CMOS is fine when the camera is still, but when your moving, its not. CMOS? Never again! Maybe this is just a problem in cheaper point and shoot cameras. IDK, but I only know that this used camera with CCD works better than the new ones I had with CMOS. Wanna see for yourself? Check it out on YouTube.
