We've always been told that watching too much television will hurt your eyes, kill your brain cells, and make you dumber, right? Well, it seems that some producers have thought to capitalize on this on occasion, switching out or getting rid of characters on TV shows without any explanation. But wait! We're not that stupid.

Here are 25 casting fails in TV that they expected us not to notice. Got you, suckas!

Some of those people didn't need to be on that list as it was pointless to have them on there to begin with.

I just hate how people keep blaming Judy Winslow's disappearance on Steve Urkel. They still found time and room to develope other characters, so it wasn't Steve's fault. They also forgot to mention that the role originally was played by another actress: Valerie Jones.

I'm tired of these vapid lists all over the Internet. Do people get paid to write this crap?

My favorite will always be the famous Darrin switch on Bewitched.

I'm sure people in Lassie noticed that Timmy's Adoptive Parents (Played by Jon Sheppod and Cloris Leachman in Season Four) were replaced by Hugh Reilly and June Lockhart in Season Five. However the show went on for Six more years with Timmy and Family, and six years with the Forest Rangers and three more years after that. :D

What about the disappearance of Judy Winslow on "Family Matters", she just vanished and was never again mentioned.

I completely agree. It was the WRITERS that failed on this 1. for not developing Judy and 2. for not explaining what happened to her. Jaleel didn't go to the writers and say "if you develop the Judy character then I'm leaving". The writers were so focused on Steve though that they didn't focus on many other characters. Rachel, Richie, Mother Winslow, and later Waldo all got shafted as well. Some of it was the actors decision (Rosetta LeNoire was getting sick, and Telma Hopkins went to her own show.) but the writers still should have tried to leave room for the other characters to grow. If Judy had been given any sort of relationship with Steve, she could have been more relevant. She interacted with him about five times on the show, and I don't think she ever even said the name "Steve Urkel" once.

Losing Judy was not a loss for the show at all.

But she was there from the beginning, as a part of the Winslow family. So while removing the Judy character didn't hurt the flow of the show, they should have used her more.

Here's one...

The disappearance of Molly Ringwald's character in "The Facts of Life".

What the hell happened to her?

Easy, by the time that FOL's second season rolled around the show underwent massive changes and Molly along with other characters were dropped by producers. They made small cameos in a few season two episodes but ultimately were no longer the focus of the series.

In terms of her character it wasn't a loss, but it did make the show lose a sense of realism by not mentioning her again. Her character could have added to the show as well, she would have still been in high school when Eddie and Laura were in college, and they could have used her for high school related plots.

Exactly! They just completely ignored all the potential, that the character could have had.

What's ironic about Daphne Maxwell-Reid replacing Janet Huber on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is that Daphne look more like she could plausibly be Karyn Parsons' (Hilary) mother.

Yeah, but she looked less like she could be Carlton's and Ashley's mother.

So Ashton replaced Charlie and Two and a Half Men is tanking. We’d care more if the show weren’t so damn stupid to begin with. Replacing characters on a TV show is a pretty clear sign that its days are numbered. Still, some shows have soldiered on despite losing key members of their cast. It’s not really ever a good idea, but it does sometimes “work,” whatever that means. Here are seven examples of bad cast change choices that made us particularly angry.
