What would your Family Matters Season 10 be like? Mines is below.

The original 'As Days Go By' opening returns with all new cast credit scenes, retaining the length of the syndication exhibit. The credits include Reginald VelJohnson, Judyann Elder, Darius McCrary, Kellie Shanygne Williams, Valerie Jones, Bryton McClure, Telma Hopkins, and Jaleel White. Cherie Johnson and Rosetta LeNoire remain as recurring roles.

It would feature storylines with quality to the first and second seasons but retain the family feel and hillarious thrill from the show. Judy and Rachel are back with both of their disappearances explained, somehow...lol. Steve would return in to the nerd he always was.Steve and Laura's wedding would be featured along with Eddie and Greta's. Shawn Harrison would special guest star as Waldo one last time, to get married to Maxine and move to California.

It would feature some exciting stories like Steve getting jealous of Laura's new boyfriend Sammy, played by Derek Luke. Others include Carl and Harriette's maid, Judy in a high-school dance group, Carl getting jealous of Eddie's new officer partner, Steve getting the chance to hit pay dirt with his experiments, Steve's new nerd friend who likes to barge into the Winslow's household just like Steve, Steve creating several useful body tools, Eddie's addiction to porn, Rachel and her new boss; played by Eddie Murphy, Richie wanting to know more about his dad, and finally Laura realizing what she is doing marrying Steve.

Interesting ideas.

Steve would return in to the nerd he always was.

I don't think this ever really changed totally.

And dealing with pornography, wow- that would be a great topic to deal with, if done well of course. It certainly needs to be addressed more- it has damaged and destroyed so many marriages and relationships....
But as to Laura getting a new boyfriend- she and Steve got engaged in the last episode of the series...I don't see that one happening, personally.

If there were to be a 10th. season of "Family Matters", it'd be great to see Laura and Steve getting married. I think that would be the main thing the whole season would build up to and have that as the finale.
Beyond that, it'd be awesome to see Rachel show up along with Richie and have some explanation as to why she has been so unseen and why Richie has continued to stay with the Winslows. I'm guessing that both Rachel and Richie have continued to live there throughout the series- it's just that we as an audience didn't see Rachel during the last few seasons- but she was there nonetheless. The same goes for Judy- she's just been in her room all this time- perhaps stricken with a deadly disease which does not allow her contact with anyone. (Just one possible scenario to explain things- though you'd think the Winslows certainly would have mentioned that in talking with each other at some point.) There really is no good explanation for Judy- her character was written out of the series and in later episodes, Carl doesn't even mention her as one of his kids- he just says he has two children.
Maybe it's a deeper and darker thing- maybe Judy ran away from home and expressly let the family know (after they made efforts to find her) that she preferred to renounce her family name and stay with someone else or something, etc.
Or maybe aliens abducted her and made all of the Winslows (and their friends) have amnesia regarding her existence- lol.
But honestly- the series probably ended on a good note where it did. I enjoyed watching this series all the way from the start in 1989 to its conclusion in 1998. It was too bad that JoMarie Payton left the series toward the end, but I'm glad they got JudyAnn Elder to replace her, rather than kill off Harriette or have her and Carl divorced all of a sudden.
Oh well- the only other thing I might have liked to have seen is a guest star appearance from Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker as Balki and Larry, respectively. It'd be cool if they worked in a reunion visit of some sort, since "Family Matters" is a spinoff of "Perfect Strangers".

I had stopped watching TGIF religiously in fall of 1996. I was a freshman in high school at the time, but I was slowly stopping to watch TGIF even earlier than that. The last episode I really recalled watching and remembering was Mother Winslow marrying Fletcher outside in the snow. After that, the show just wasn't striking me anymore and I was almost a teenager at the time...I don't remember Myra or whoever it was, chasing after Steve. As I said, I stopped watching around the time Mother Winslow got married to Fletcher, after that it was a blurr. The Family Matters I remember had STEVE being a geek and Laura avoiding him. I don't even recall watching the final season of Perfect Strangers. I did watch here and there but not as religiously in the 1994-1995 and 1995-1996 seasons. TGIF was going downhill at this time.

But from what I've read and seen...

The 10th and final season would have brought Rachel back, Steve and Laura would have married well before the series finale. Maybe in an early episode of season 10? We would have seen them in married life. Getting their own apartment, then Laura gets pregnant. The last episode would be Laura's baby shower. She goes into labor at it right at the Winslow house. I think one more season would have been enough for closure. I couldn't see it going on longer.

Trust me you don't want to get to know her. She was a chronic pain and her STANS are even worse.

What do you mean? Who are her “stans”?

Obviously, anybody who didn't buy how the writers tried to ruin her character.

If both Family Matters AND Step by Step had been renewed by CBS for 1998-99 instead of cancelled, I'd give them both abbreviated seasons (FM would get 14-16 and SbS gets 12), to air in the same timeslot, with Step by Step's season airing first.

Also, if Myra is still going to be in the season 10 storyline, she would have to be recast out of necessity, with Michelle Thomas leaving after Family Matters's season 9 because of her battle with stomach cancer (which she would ultimately lose in December of 1998 before season 10 premieres).
