After Bob Denver died of Cancer at age 70 in 2005, I discovered, per reputable information, that he and his wife, Dreama Perry, had a severely Autistic son, Colin.
Bob and Dreama first met when she was an aspiring actress cast as Bobs potential love interest in a stage play where they appeared together; soon afterwards, they fell in love in real life and eventually married.
Bob had already been twice divorced and had, unless Im mistaken, at least 3 children from his 1st marriage (including a son, Patrick, who appeared opposite Daddy Bob on Gilligans Island when Patrick was VERY young).
As a severely Autistic man myself, I can relate to what Bob Denver had to go through as a parent of an Autistic son, because even Ill admit that I NEVER chose to have Autism to begin with, and there are people Ive met in my life who made me feel ashamed myself for YEARS for having Autism.
