View Full Version : Clair had a issue with her 17 year old son looking at magazines featuring women.....
TVFactFan 03-30-2013, 03:42 PM wearing bikini's:lol:
Damm, the boy was about to graduate HS so why the hell couldn't he look at pics at the age of 17 with women laying on cars wearing bikni's?
Not sure what was Clair's problem in this episodes since what Theo was doing was normal

She should have been happy that her 17 year old son was doing something normal like looking at pretty ladies in bikinis. It's not like he was slobbering all over a Hustler magazine.

Exactly, she should have only been worried if he was looking at half naked men LOL

Or could you imagine if Claire caught Theo masturbating to those pictures?

She probably already figured out that's what he was doing but didn't want to embarrass him:lol:

Actually when she noticed the magazine she should have just ignored it because that was his business and it wasn't like the magazine was laying around lol

Didn't you make a post about this once before? Or am I getting old and forgetful?

I don't think so, not about any magazines with half naked women lol

OK Well i'm going to give you a mothers point of view. I do not want my son looking at magazines with half naked women in them. Just like a father would feel that same about his teenage daughter looking at a stack full of magazine with half naked men in them laying on bear skin rugs.

Theo was 17 years and almost a man
Brieannas21 03-31-2013, 01:45 AM Theo was 17 years and almost a man
And my point is what father would want their 17 yr old daughter (who's almost a woman) looking at stacks of magazine of half naked men?

Her father is not supposed to know and that's her business just like it was theo's business. You can go in her child's room and start searching for stuff. lol

When you're underage and still living at home with Mom and Dad, you have no business. Theo wasn't paying any bills in the Huxtable household.

The magazines were hidden and Clair stumbled across them accidently. Add that to the fact that Theo was about to be 18. What else is he supposed to look at when he is 17 going on 18????????????? LOL
*ROGER* 03-31-2013, 01:57 AM Theo wasn't paying any bills in the Huxtable household.
True, but Claire could have respected his privacy a little more. She was too much of a butt-inski.

Theo the child Claire is the parent, if she finds that the material wasn't to her liking then she had the right to make Theo get rid of them. When he moved out of the Huxtable household and he was paying his own bills then he had the right to purchase and look at any magazine he wished.

Respect his privacy? She didn't go looking for the magazines.

Well no 17 year old boy brings magazines like that around his mom lol Just like I didn't watch X-rated movies at 17 when my mom came in my room to ask me something or had a nudie magazine laying around because that was me showing her respect.
And that's what theo was doing by hiding the magazines, showing his mom respect.
TVFactFan 03-31-2013, 02:06 AM Respect his privacy? She didn't go looking for the magazines.
She knocked over the books by a accident and that's when she saw the magazines. So I don't know why it was even an issue. Wasn't like he was reading it while she was inside the room with him

That is a bunch of bull. Theo wasn't showing his mom respect, he was hiding them because he didn't what her or Cliff to find them because he knew it was wrong.

In general, Theo was a pretty respectful kid. His parents were very lucky to have a son like him.

True
TVFactFan 03-31-2013, 02:15 AM It was revealed that the girls in the magazine were................half naked
So that means it really shouldn't have been a issue lol

I said that already. You can wear a g-string and a small bikini top just big enough to cover your nips and be considered half naked.
If your 16/17 yr old daughter had magazines in her room of men covering up their ding dongs with nothing but a towel or in g-strings you wouldn't have a problem with it?

I think it's a little different for a 16 year old boy than it is a 16 year old girl.

How? 16/17 yr old girls are sexual beings, they have hormones.

Because 16 year old boys don't get pregnant:lol:

Remember when James was ok with JJ reading about a sex book but when he found out it was thelma's he SNAPPED:lol:
*ROGER* 03-31-2013, 02:43 AM LOL

True, but a father would always flip out more over a girl having relations or looking at magazines of half naked men because he will feel that since a girl is the one who gets pregnant, she would be more vulnerable than some boyfriend who could always skip town and dump the girl.
Brieannas21 03-31-2013, 02:43 AM Remember when James was ok with JJ reading about a sex book but when he found out it was thelma's he SNAPPED:lol:

No, he just realized that the book wasn't "dirty." He realized that the book was about statistical studies. If the book was "dirty" he would have continued to flip out on his daughter.

And when a mother has a son he will always be her baby boy no matter his age. And if more parents would teach and train their sons to be respectable young men and to respect their body and themselves then there would be less dead beat fathers.

Nope because he was ok with the book when he thought it was JJs. But when he found out that it was Thelma's that is when he flipped out.
cleverfun3000 03-31-2013, 01:14 PM Given the choice, I would rather my 17yr old son or daughter look at magazines and never ever have sex until they are financially, comfortably married. So I have no problem with the reading of nude and half naked magazines by boys and girls in their very late teens. I have a HUGE problem if they have sex - which I am 1000% against them having in any way shape or form. Long live porn if it is used as a replacement for actually having sex.
FuriosityShell 08-15-2013, 11:13 PM I saw both episodes of both shows and I notice that Clair had no problem with Denise being 18 (only a year than Theo was at the time)and having a calendar with half naked men in her dorm room. If I was a parent, I wouldn't have a problem with my kids having things like that as long as it wasn't around me. It's normal for teenagers to be curious about that sort of thing.
visaman666 08-24-2013, 07:27 AM Hell, I was buying Playboys' when I was 13. Ah, Miss August 1978, where are you? ;)
TVFactFan 08-24-2013, 11:59 AM Hell, I was buying Playboys' when I was 13. Ah, Miss August 1978, where are you? ;)
I know, 17 year old boy looking at those types of things meant he was normal

    True...True. However, my mother WOULD HAVE HAD an issue with me if I had "girlie magazines" in the house at 17. Even at my age now, she'd still convey to me that I shouldn't and I will 1100 miles away.
Clair: Say goodbye to Tammaayy!..
mets82 08-27-2013, 03:21 PM So Theo looked at a bunch of magazines, so what? Clair should mind her business. I agree wtih the fact that she was nosy. Its not like Theo murdered or anything he was just looking at magazines. Who hasnt done that before?

Proving that Claire was just a self righteous hypocrite.
ThomasE 11-24-2013, 03:23 AM Proving that Claire was just a self righteous hypocrite.
Claire was being a no nonsense mother that laid down the law. My mother would not have let me have that magazine either.
caladon 11-24-2013, 03:46 AM She re-acted to the man's picture in Denise's dorm room with nothing more than mocked annoyance, left it hanging there and never said a word to Denise about it. However, Theo was given an at length lecture on how bad it was to have a car magazine that's cover uses a woman in a bikini to attract men's attention.
Same situation, different genders, different reactions: hypocrite.
Also, it was a car magazine, not a Playboy.

Denise was already in college by then. It could have been the roomates' calendar but Claire was on to her. With Theo, he was still at home under the parent's rules. I didn't see anything wrong getting on his case. It was common where I lived.
There sure seems to be some Claire hateration going on. LOL.

Yeah I agree. Theo was a minor and still living under her roof and eating her food. So Clair was right to have an issue of Theo having almost nude women magazine. My mom would of reacted the same way but with more yelling.
