The main Dexter Stefonek thread on here says something to the effect of "Wisconsin man disappeared while travelling to Washington state." I recently remarked how I cringe every time I read that. In actuality, Dexter was travelling TO Wisconsin FROM Oregon.

Yep. He was from Rhinelander, WI.
