The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office has determined a bag of eyeballs dumped in a Northland gas station are animal eyes, most likely from a pig.
Kansas City Police responded to a call of a suspicious package about midnight after an employee found it at the Conoco at Northwest 112th Street and North Ambassador Drive, said Capt. Steve Young, police spokesman. She told police she was emptying the trash can when she saw a cardboard box on top with stickers that said: Keep refrigerated.
She opened the box and found a medical cooler, labeled “six eyes.” Inside the cooler were ice packs and a bag of eyes.
Police called area eye banks and hospitals to see if they were waiting a delivery. None was expecting any.
Surveillance video showed two men leaving the package on the trash bin. They left in a blue Toyota.

The medical examiner extracted blood from the eyes and determined they were not human.
