I hear a lot of people say how much they hate hair scrunchies and are embarrassed they ever wore them. Are they really that bad? I have long hair and still wear them myself. I see a few people who still wear them. I wear them and nobody says a word to me about them.
I like hair scrunchies a lot. I think they add something to your hair, instead of just wearing a regular hair tie. I don't think I will ever stop wearing them. Granted, they aren't as popular as they were in the 90's, but they're still around.
What do you think?!

Scrunchies are only allowable at the gym, or bumming around the house. They've been taboo for over a decade. Trust me, I work in the animal welfare field--one of the least fashion forward industries ever--and even we know that.
I'm not surprised that no one has mentioned them to you. IMO, that would be pretty damn rude. However, if you asked my opinion--and you die ask the group--I'd steer you to the nearest drug store where you could probably find 10 better options that would update your look. Ask your friends opinions, but please don't get defensive if they tell you something you don't want to hear.
Seriously, check out some of these options: http://www.goody.com/Product-Collection?fp_id=3f1096ad-ff15-40eb-9d85-98156ac6c5e6

I haven't heard about backlash against scrunchies, I still see them.
