Last week, I meant to see a LB movie and forgot. I don't have the name.
It was about LB's character married to some inventor. The movie came out in 1947.

Yesterday, I tune in TCM and there was another LB movie. Again I don't have the name.
LB playing herself agrees to be some young millitary's cadet's date for a dance. This movie came out in 1943 and was in color. Because it was in color, it doesn't look old.

A quick survey of her IMDB page shows Her Husband's Affairs from 1947 whose synopsis mentions a scientist inventing a hair remover. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039456/.

From 1943 there is Best Foot Forward where she plays herself and goes to a cadet dance. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035675/

Never seen either one of them but the first sounds worthwhile. I caught Meet the People on TCM a few months ago, which was released around the same time as Best Foot Forward but it was a real snoozefest, aside from a scene where Lucille Ball is posing for photographers and showing off her figure. I'm assuming Best Foot to be similar in tone and message. If the color doesn't date it then the wartime propaganda angle probably does.

Best Foot Forward is a 1943 MGM musical based on a popular stage musical. It's pretty good and there is some good music from Harry James thrown in for good measure. One number features June Allyson, Gloria DeHaven and a young Nancy Walker singing and dancing "The Three Bs".

I agree. Best Foot Forward is a lot of fun and it's one of my favorite LB films. Her Husband's Affairs, however, not so much.

Two more Lucille Ball movies on TCM in the last 24 hours.

Critic's Choice with Bob Hope from 1963.

Fuller Brush Girl from 1950. I assume that was LB last movie before ILL.
In this movie she LB is wearing a mini-skirt which we don't see her wear on ILL.
