TBS Renews "Cougar Town" for Season 5

Crack open a bottle wine because it's time to celebrate: "Cougar Town" has been renewed for a 13-episode fifth season.

The Courteney Cox-starring comedy, which initially aired on ABC, will return for a fifth season in 2014. Its 13-episode order is actually down two episodes from its fourth season, which currently airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on TBS.

The season finale will air April 9.

"Cougar Town has been everything we hoped it would be: a smart, big-hearted, laugh-out-loud comedy that shines a bright light on the TBS brand," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies.

"This season, the brilliant cast and immensely creative production team on Cougar Town have crafted their best episodes yet, and we couldn't be happier inviting them back for more."

Since launching on TBS, "Cougar Town" has averaged 2.8 million viewers. The comedy is also the network's top original prime-time series ever with adults 18-to-49.

And just for the record, opening up a bottle of wine would also have been how we would commiserate if TBS didn't renew the show.
