Tina Louise remembers Bob Denver

Bob's character on Gilligan's Island was lovable, wacky, and charming. You laughed with him and at him as he did silly things. He was curious like a child, playful and boyish. Children loved him, and families enjoyed watching him together. Bob's mind was very quick — as an actor he talked very fast. But as a person, he was shy and introspective. He was my favorite person to work with. It was a joy for me to flirt with him, to try to charm him to do whatever I wanted — to help me get my way on the island or certainly to help me get off the island, which, of course, I never did. It's amazing, the way the show has lasted and the pleasure we've brought to so many people — it has taken a while to really grasp how much pleasure. Bob's comedy was clever and fun, and will live forever.

That's a nice tribute to both the man and the actor!

It was said they didn't get along and that she was a diva on set and hogged the makeup chair and Bob was all, "What does she think this is, Ginger's Island?", but whatever happened behind the scenes it never showed onscreen and eventually Tina came to realise that being part of GI wasn't such a bad thing after all. :D

Took her a long time to realize it, too long. Wish she could have been a part of the post show with the rest of the cast while they were all still around.

Better late than never, I guess. Maybe it took those deaths and the passage of time to make her realise she'd been a part of something truly special

It's really good to see that Tina has accepted that she was on the show. Still looks good for her age. I bet she outlives them all.

Tina blamed GI for all her rejections for roles she wanted.

I guess she did not want to play any sexy, dumb, movie star type characters after GI was over. Tina shortly after GI got canceled appeared in the Matt Helm movie - The Wrecking Crew (1968). It started a lot of super star females that were above Tina at the time like Elke Sommers and Sharon Tate. Tina was very hot in her Matt Helm scenes and got a body double for her shower scene. Most of her scenes were cut heavily in the "over the air" broadcasts of the Helm movie in the late 80s and even today there are some scenes that are still cut.

I did see the movie on a cable channel and it was pretty hot still - 2002-2003.

I may try to see it again on Netflix!

Never seen the flick but I'm guessing Tina wanted to get back into the film scene after being stuck on the boob tube for 3 years.
