Have any of you noticed the dark makeup job on Georgette(Season 4 especially)? It almost looks like her face is dirty or like a "five o'clock shadow"! It's like shading all over her face! I wonder what the makeup people were trying to accomplish? I have also noticed especially in the opening credits ,season 4 on, where Mary is waving at someone that there is an awful lot of white shadow under her eyes? I've noticed this technique on other shows too. I suppose it's to highlight the eye area but in some cases it looks like clown makeup.:)

If you want to see clown make-up, check out Lucy and Vivian on The Lucy Show in 1963, the second season when they first went to "color." Their lip stick and make-up is just "caked" on.

I never noticed it with Mary and Georgette, in the '70's on TMTMS, but I'll make it a point to check it out!

Georgia Engel was in her mid twenties when she was cast on MTM Show, but they seem to have made her character into a middle aged like woman with her clothing and hairstyle. She (Georgette) looked older than she was.

What they should have done is to have done a scene with her in more modern, stylish clothing of a young woman of her time with her hair done up a more mature way. But then she would make Ted Baxter look like her father (which he was old enough to be).

She was a babe but was stuck looking somewhat dowdy. I guess MTM and Valarie did not want a blonde chick 10 years younger than them to outshine them.
