Has anyone gotten their copy of season 8 yet? Is it the same edits as the Starz release, or did they release the original broadcast episodes?

View Full Version : Mill Creek season 8 release BeatleMoe 03-20-2013, 04:49 PM Has anyone gotten their copy of season 8 yet? I still have a hard time processing the fact that this $1 DVD company that originally couldn't even settle on a name (Treeline Films, then Dollar Entertainment, I think there was a 3rd name before MC?) is becoming somewhat legitimate. Shattering Sea 03-21-2013, 08:05 AM I've been wondering if Mill Creek's season 8 release is edited, too. Does it have the Patty Duke spoof? Does it have David singing "When You Wish Upon a Star"? Does it have the original tag ending for the gay wedding episode? Does it have the original "Wish Upon a Star" playing as the Conners are running through Disney World? And I could care less how many names Mill Creek has had, as long as they are releasing the uncut episodes of "Roseanne" at a cheap price. McGillicuddy 03-21-2013, 12:18 PM Yeah, I want the "Idenitical Beckys", (The Patty Duke Show spoof), that was classic! zypherix 03-26-2013, 05:13 AM A user on amazon.com claims the edits from the earlier s8 release are still present, and the episodes are on fewer discs. Are you sure you're not reading the Anchor Bay reviews? Amazon never differentiates between old and new releases in their reviews section. zypherix 03-26-2013, 08:43 AM I can read... so yes. This is just one user's comments, so better wait for a proper dvd review. I wasn't insinuating that you were illiterate. I just meant that in the past I myself have gotten mixed up reading reviews by users on Amazon's older products when a new release of the same product came out. I didn't mean to offend you. zypherix 03-26-2013, 05:36 PM Its allrite. pasted the links to help out bliss 05-12-2013, 02:38 PM No Patty Duke Show tribute tag. No sale. I'll just keep my original season 8 set from Starz/Anchor Bay & wait to see if Season 9 Mill Creek has extra footage added. ShamelessFanGirl 11-21-2013, 12:27 AM I am curious, when Dan says "You know, if you think about this was really the 'Friends' of the 80's." and you hear the Facts of Life theme on the TV. Did they put that theme back in or is it the same as the previous Season 8 release? McGillicuddy 11-21-2013, 12:49 AM Millcreek made such a deal about season 1 being un-cut, but seasons 8&9 are still edited. ShamelessFanGirl 11-22-2013, 11:07 PM Millcreek made such a deal about season 1 being un-cut, but seasons 8&9 are still edited. I had only heard that Season 1 and 8 were edited, I didn't know that Season 9 was as well. McGillicuddy 12-05-2013, 04:27 PM I believe the 2 "Disney World" episodes, are un-cut. I know "When You Wish Upon A Star" is playing when they first run into the park, in slow motion. I don't know how it was on the Anchor Bay release. bliss 12-12-2013, 01:00 AM I had only heard that Season 1 and 8 were edited, I didn't know that Season 9 was as well. Looks like buying season 1 & 8 of Mill Creek versions are the way to go. I was hoping for some unedited episodes on season 9. ShamelessFanGirl 12-16-2013, 12:23 AM Looks like buying season 1 & 8 of Mill Creek versions are the way to go. I was hoping for some unedited episodes on season 9. This is all news to me, I never realized that Season 9 was edited before until now. zypherix 12-17-2013, 07:43 AM This is all news to me, I never realized that Season 9 was edited before until now. Seasons 8 and 9 have numerous music edits. Even if some of it have been reinstated on the Mill Creek dvds, the scenes edited out are still missing from both seasons appearantly. |
