I don't recall if Mr. Kotter ever made mention of being at a game at Ebbets Field when he was a child, though I'd imagien one of his many uncles or cousins took him to one there.:) I use it to segueway into what ends up helping toward a resolution, albeit slowly, in a fanfiction - crossover with "Family Affair." (Here if anyone's interested - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/9109154/1/A-Common-Thread)
The question is, do you think the Sweathogs would have been impacted by the Dodgers' staying? I make some comments in the story about what might have happened toward the end of it, but all that is mostly just jokintg. I don't think that Barbarino would actually try to tutor players on arguing with umpires by saying "what?" "Where?' till the ump gives up and agreees with them, though it makes for a funny line.
But, in a universe where the show is still made with the Dodgers there, do you think they would be used or ignored? Washignton is still going to play basketball, of course, but do you think, given that the Dodgers were very much tied to the community, that they would try to make it realistic by, say, having the gang make former Dodger Babe Herman (who doubled into a double play and did other Sweathog-like things on the bases) an honorary Sweathog? Would they at least reference the ball club? Or - given that the school year is mostly not during baseball season - might they ignore it?
Of course, I guess some of that could depend on how Gabe Kaplan grows up, huh? If he's in high school and the Dodgers are still there, perhaps it would depend on how the team was itnertwined into his and his classmates' lives, whetehr just a few casual jokes or an actual plot or two surrounding, say, Horshack as a bat boy.
