It will be interesting to see if any more comes about him and Linda than was portrayed in the UM segment.

This is very good news. Almost 30 years in the making and they're finally getting somewhere. I can only imagine how the families feel. Hopefully Linda will be found in the near future to give them some peace of mind about what happened to her.

I wonder how strong the case against Rockefeller is, considering the passage of time and lack of DNA testing at the time the crime was committed. I know the Luminol testing in the guest house where he resided indicated huge portions of what was probably blood and he took off around the time of the couple's disappearance while claiming to ''know where they were.'' That's pretty condemning right there. I shudder to think of John being murdered and dismembered in the guest house, particularly while his mother was in the front house unaware  That is such a sweet picture of the couple in the article you linked to. :( Hoping for answers to come up soon!

Sorry I didn't see this thread, so I bumped an old thread that came up when I searched the Sohus case.

Bailey argued it's just as likely Linda Sohus killed her husband after exhibiting "odd behavior" and "inconsistent statements. "

That behavior and those statements might have been "a premeditated and prearranged way to cover her own tracks," Bailey said, pointing to Linda's own use of an alias. It was "a way for her to arrange her own getaway after she murdered her husband, for whatever reason or motive she must have had. "

Sadly, I doubt that Gerhartsreiter will ever confess about what he did to Linda, since her unresolved disappearance is now his defense strategy. One of the mysteries being what circumstances led to John going into the guesthouse, since it sounded like neither John nor Linda regularly interacted with him.

Edit: There's an ongoing blog with articles about the Sohuses and Gerhartsreiter here (the blogger was acquainted with John and Linda through the L.A. science fantasy society): http://file770.com/?tag=john-sohus
