It's too bad that it was canceled after the pilot. It would have been so nice to have Nick off of Family Ties.

Nick was annoying, like a 1980's Fonzie.

Nick getting hit by a bus would have been the funniest scene he has ever been in.

I kind of like the Nick character on "Ties".Underneath the inescapably earthy surface lies a man of highly honorable values and virtue, which also applies in the cases of Fonzie and "Taxi's" Tony Banta.

I hope this, amongst other things, will be included as an extra on a Season 7 DVD release.:)

If there was one character on Family Ties who didn't deserve a spinoff it was definitely Nick. Don't get me wrong, he's alright in small doses, just not as the main character on a show.

The only reason I wish the spin-off had worked is that it would have gotten Nick off Family Ties. He was barely totalerable in the one episode of his show The Art Of Being NIck. I couldn't stand him on Family Ties. The actor himself is ok, I just hated the Nick character..

You know I never missed an episode of Family Ties when it was originally on but I somehow miss this show. I wonder what I was doing? lol

That's cool that you never missed an episode of Family Ties when it was originally on Sonny. It's the best show ever, imo. :)

It was the best sitcom of the 1980's that's for sure. :)

Nick was basically Rocky Balboa in a sitcom. I just never really liked him and Mallory as a couple. I thought most of his interactions with Alex and Steven were great though. They should have made him a neighbor instead.

I'm reading the wikipedia page for this show and the funniest thing about it is they actually produced 3 different versions of the spinoff. I'd like to see the other 2 sometime. Just a morbid curiosity. ;)

Make him as a neighbor and put Mallory and Skippy together.

The main thing for me was the age difference between the actors. Scott is 8 years older than Justine and he looked like he was in his 30's on FT.

Skippy and Mallory together would have been interesting. Maybe a slow buildup to it, but not as long as Tony and Angela on Who's the Boss.

I agree. Skippy and Mallory were much more suited for each other. I agree they could have built up the storyline of Skippy and Mallory getting together as a couple. It's a shame that the writers didn't pursue that.

To me Nick and Mallory together were funny however at times not totally believable once she went to college. I would have thought by that time she would have different interests and ideas. I know when I went to college my ideas about who my friends were and who I would want to date were different than in High School. College opened my eyes to new ideas, interests and personalities.

For me personally, I liked Nick Moore just fine. He and Mallory made a good couple. Skippy is also hilarious too, but I don't know that Mallory would have really gone for him- as she had made it clear in various episodes that she's not really interested.
