1960's TV character because of his hair and clothes? Like he was the additional member of the Monkees:lol:
He looks like a reborn monkee playing on a 2013 TV show:lol:

You're right. He does look a bit like the late Monkee Davy Jones. In all the years I have been watching the show, his hairstyle looks like a Beatle.

Maybe Howard's trying to be retro cool... He does seem to have some '60s flair with a Beatles-like (or Monkees-like) haircut and his clothes sometimes seem to lean toward the '60s too... but that's cool with me.

Also, does Howard's hairstyle remind anyone of Tootie's hairstyle from the early 1980s?
(Tootie is a character from a sitcom titled "The Facts of Life".)

Actually Howard looks very 1970s to me because my brother's hair looked just like his, circa 1978...! And lots of guys had it longer than that all through the '70s.

I never thought of it like that, but yeah he does kind of look like a Monkee with that style.
I always thought he just looked like a stereotypical sci-fi nerd. You know, the kind you would see at sci-fi conventions and who would ask the celebrities really technical questions about their respective shows.

We're living in a day and time where everything's been done from music to movies to whatever in the field of popular cultures, including Howard's "Beatlesque" hairstyle.People are running out of fresh notions in the area of "latest things".For many things, retro seems to only way to go.Even Rolling Stone magazine took notice of the fact that for the first time since the advent of rock and roll in the mid-1950's,the first ten years of this new milleniium marked the first time a ten year period went by without ANY MAJOR developments in THAT craft.
