There's a question appearing in my profile that I want removed (type the word baseball without spaces). It doesn't serve any purpose but there's no way for me to remove it myself.

It does serve a purpose. It prevents bots from registering and posting spam. You only need to answer it when you first register. There's no way to remove it.

I realize it can keep spambots from registering but don't understand why it has to stay in the profile.

I was able to move it to another page. It wasn't designed to appear on a member's profile page. I didn't think it was such a big deal since nobody had mentioned it before.
