That might seem harsh but there programming is beyond terrible. I've never even heard of half the shows they have. They got reality shows on there that I've never heard of. Right now, they have a show called Foundations on now, then The Border and then The Collector. I've never heard of these shows. Plus the fact they dont have the full screen and the black bars instead. Am I reading too much into this? I thought when they had there soft launch, that there programming was better.

I don't have it yet, as a matter of fact...I wonder if WKYC picked-up CoziTV yet?...

I wouldn't say they're the worst network ever but their lineup isn't very impressive, except for a couple of their daytime shows.

But the thing I'm wondering is; WHY THE **** do they show everything with those black bars on either side????

I'm wondering if they'll pick-up more TV Shows that were made by Universal or was on NBC.

When I saw their lineup I didn't think much of it. However they're not totally worthless, I believe Cozi airs Highway to Heaven and Charlie's Angels. There are several stations that don't even have one show worth watching.

I like the mix of some real odd classics but have complained about the aspect ratio on still normal old screens 4:3......I have written them several times about the black bars only on the sides, hence also stretching the picture, even when the movies air full screen, they are still stretched. Cozi has ignored all the proper and respectful emails I have sent.

Even though it would be annoying, I would rather have programs in standard definition even if broadcasted "postage stamped" meaning black bars surrounding every corner.

There is no reasonable explaination for this, as it is a over the air digital channel, but so is Antenna TV.....I just thank the tv heavens above that the worst of all the classic channels COZI is the only one following this practice.

Why did these 16:9 televisions' catch on to the degree that one cannot even buy a 4:3 screen anywhere, we are all not only sports & movie watchers. I want my classic B&W shows (broadcast & DVD) to fill the screen as I watched them and as they were produced.

rant over

Not sure about Foundations, but The Collector and The Border are Canadian shows. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

This is what I absolutely hate about Dish Net. The pillarboxing and windowboxing on certain channels due to them not wanting to negotiate deals with the rights holders for HD.

I would like to have Aspire TV, just to be able to see Julia again. I haven't seen that show since it originally aired. I never liked I Spy, but The Bill Cosby Show is good, I have DVD's of that.

Please lets end this silly OT Aspire part of a thread that is titled "Why is COZI the worst station ever?".....first of all COZI is not a cable station, it is a over the air NBC owned digital channel that replaced "New York Non-Stop" but it does run some of their leftover series. I have inquired with much fustration with COZI and even to PAV in threads as to why on 4:3 aspect ratio sets, that most of the classics air with the horrible unwatchable black bars on the side? No one has given a proper explanation.

Now to ASPIRE.....Currently at 2PM eastern 3/21/13 they are running a 1977 film called "Wilma"....they run many daily movies in addition to music specials, Sammy Davis Jr for one that cater to the format that targets african-americans and yes is owned partially by Magic Johnson. It also runs inspirational programs for young people to "Aspire" to reach their dreams.

Yes the program schedule is rather light, but not that far away from many cable channels that run a 12 hour day and then just repeat it to total 24 hours.

In addition to the above and the standard infomerical blocks, Here is their complete series list.

SOUL TRAIN
I SPY
'68 BILL COSBY
JULIA
FLIP WILSON (syndicated half hours)

Could it inprove?, yes but so could countless other channels as stated in the original purpose of the thread. BTW TV Land only ran about 8 Julia episodes during a February Black History Month programming stunt over 10 years ago. These "Julia" airings are the first time the series (NOT ON DVD) have been played nationally since it's original run or at least in 30 years! All three seasons, and I was quite pleased to add the "Julia" Christmas episode to my collection as well as the entire series to my collection.

Why are posters so negative on these boards and the internet in general? Plus write the unfactual as fact? At times these boards are the tabloids in space!

I check it out every so often and always seem to see Cash Cab when I tune in.

I am not really impressed with it. When I am home during the week I will tune into Marcus Welby. That's about it.
